The Eagles scored how many TDs last night?

Sparky 11-27-2012 02:13 PM

2?

Exo 11-28-2012 05:14 PM

Kaepernick to get the start again. I honestly didn't see this coming this year. I thought Kaep was a project and that Alex would helm the QB position for the entirety of this year and probably next. I didn't expect this. I agree with Harbaugh though. Let the hot hand continue to play. It wouldn't be fair to either man to bench them but you have to bench somebody. You can't start two QBs and you're not going to just cut one of them. A decision must be made and it has been made.

Looking forward to riding this out. Should be fun.

I actually disagree on this for a couple different reasons. The first is 3/4 of the season is already gone and Smith had yet to let them down. Why risk the rest of it on an unproven QB, and maybe lose home field advantage in the playoffs? Im not a big Smith fan, but if it aint broke dont fix it I say. You also chance dividing a lockeroom cause Smith has already stated he doesn't think the decision was fair. Vernon Davis stating that to him, Smith was still the man. Its a distraction that could compromise the kinship players have developed as a team. Not to mention the fact that it changes your game plan as well that you've been trying to instill into your players, and get them to buy into. Until Smith showed me he wasn't capable of living up to the expectations they had in mind for him, I think you stay with him. Given, the dynamic Kap contributes to the squad maybe a lil more exciting, but with that excitment come the potential for disaster. He's somewhat reckless and could very well make bad decisions in a critical moment. Smith isn't as mobile and doesn't strike me as a come from behind QB, but I think he's less likely to be the reason you lose the game imo. What happens if Kap does falter and they have to go back to Smith? What do you think his attitude is going to be then? I just dont think it a wise choice given all the time they have spent developing Smith into they're program, but only time will tell.

Forward To Death 11-30-2012 05:34 AM

Maybe it's a sign Kap is the next Tom Brady.

Bloozcrooz 11-30-2012 09:41 AM

Drew Bledsoe's last season he was 5-11 and thus the reason for putting in Tom Brady in the first place after the second game of the next season when he got hurt. He was already sucking arse, and continued sucking arse as a Cowboy till he was benched and Romo starting QBing. Alex Smith on the other hand had just been named the NFC's player of the week, was ranked 5th in the NFl with a passer rating of 104.1, and a 70.0% completion record. Since 2010 Smiths record as a starter is 21-6-1...like said, if it aint broke dont fix it. Especially right before the playoff's

Exo 11-30-2012 08:34 PM

I want to win a superbowl. I've been a die hard 49er fan for 15 years and it's time I see that damn trophy hoisted. I was 6 in 1994. That **** doesn't count. If Harbaugh thinks Kaep is the one that will get us to the big game then I got to go with his gut feeling. The man has had a brilliant track record of making good decisions since he came into the league.

It is however a huge risk. HUGE.

First off I believe Kaep will play good enough until the playoffs to remain the starter. We just don't face any formidable defenses until playoff time. If Kaep fails in the playoffs and loses us a game we are screwed. Screwed. Alex wouldn't want to play here anymore and I wouldn't blame him. The locker room will lose faith in Harbaugh to make the right decisions for the team. You would also have the question mark of whether or not to go out and pursue a high quality quarterback in FA if it proves Kaep can't handle big games. We've seen Jim do it already with Manning.

If I were to bet money. I'd say that our defense carries this team to the superbowl. They have been on FIRE the last two weeks and I think they'll carry it through. Kaep is a better playmaker then Alex and I think he'll do what he did sunday against the Saints. Make a few big plays and protect the ball. That is what a QB in this system is designed to do. Except with Kaep, you get the added bonus of a bona fide playmaker.

Again. Big risk. Hope it plays out.

ThePhanastasio 12-01-2012 12:54 AM

My hopes for my Chargers making the playoffs have pretty much gone out the window at this point. Goddamn it all. I'm calling for Norv's head at this point, but that doesn't do much good. He should have been fired every single season for the past several seasons. Maybe he's just a nice guy. I don't know. But he's NOT making anything even resembling good choices for this team.

Forward To Death 12-01-2012 02:52 AM

It's Rivers' fault more than anyone else's. You could argue his progression could be better at this point in his career with another coach, but Turner is traditionally very good with QBs, and statistically, he hasn't been bad with Rivers either.

Turner is accountable, though, so he should be canned either way, and he definitely has made his fair share of blunders as far as I can tell, but man. Rivers is so inconsistent. Sometimes he plays like an elite QB, sometimes he'll just go three-and-out for a couple quarters in a row, or throw interceptions on a few consecutive drives to put the game out of reach, or just to give the other team a chance.

Rivers will usually be awful for at least one quarter of every game, and many times that's enough for the other team to take control of the game. Maybe they should get Andy Reid, who is still one of the best coaches in the NFL, and will be available next year.

blastingas10 12-01-2012 08:07 AM

I agree with blooz. If smith isn't 100% then I understand starting kap, but I dont think he should be placed above smith on the depth chart. Smith has been a pretty solid quarterback for the last couple years and the team has been doing good. I don't see any reason to throw someone else in the mix, other than smith being injured.

I'm hoping the cowboys can get andy Reid. It would spice up the eagles vs cowboys rivalry. I think it's likely that garret gets fired after the season, even though jerry said that garret is his guy. That's typical Jerry jones, he said the same thing about wade Philips and we all
Know what happened with wade.

Sparky 12-01-2012 03:13 PM

Wow, that's incredibly ****ed up.

Thom Yorke 12-01-2012 04:26 PM

Pretty crazy situation. It'll be interesting to see how the Chiefs acknowledge it tomorrow.

Also thought this was pretty bad. I know the guy just murdered someone, but really? This came out just hours after it happened.

Forward To Death 12-01-2012 04:47 PM

That's pretty damn cold.

There's going to be a lot more to come out in this story. Maybe it was drugs, maybe he was insane, and it sounds like he was definitely struggling emotionally.

crash_override 12-01-2012 05:21 PM

Sounds like he just snapped.

Niners time.

Forward To Death 12-02-2012 11:20 AM

The Packers are moving the ball at will.

Bloozcrooz 12-03-2012 10:41 AM

Kaepersnicker or whatever his name is had a couple mistakes and a loss yesterday to the Rams? Really? I know its only a game but this this could only get worse for the Niners if he turns out not to be what Harbaugh thought he was going to be. Now its to late to go back to Smith and its almost playoff time.

Anyway my Cowboys are still hanging in there with a unimpressive win against Philly last night. With Vick, Mccoy, And Jackson out they still struggled to put one in the win colum against a struggling team with more issues than any team in the league at the moment imo. I'm not sure if its worth trying to get in the playoffs this year or if they should just lose out and hope for a good draft pick as a family member of mine mentioned. Seems like they're just delaying the inevitable but only time will tell.

Exo 12-03-2012 11:13 AM

It's boom or bust now with Kaepernick. I don't like the way Harbaugh handled this.

Likely being a back up quarterback, somewhere. I'd imagine teams built around an athletic qb(carolina, washington, seattle) might possibly want him.

You don't think he's starter material?

Sparky 12-03-2012 02:18 PM

I do. After the serious fumble-itis he might seem like a risk not worth taking by most teams. Not to mention his inconsistent passing, his damaged persona and "ability to lead", as well as his age. I just don't know what team would want him, possibly the jets. They're pretty good at making dumbfounded acquisitions a la tebow.

Oh God the effin Jets? lol. They got more QB drama than they can handle now. I really hope that Teebow goes to another team or becomes the starter there so we don't have to hear espn and Teebow nation screaming for him. As for Vick I think a team will take a chance on him as a starter..theres just to many desperate franchises out there. I think it has to be the right environment (right coach) and program though for him to be successful.

Bloozcrooz 12-10-2012 10:21 PM

Man oh man..did anyone see the Pats pick apart the Texans? I never have completely bought into the Texans being as good as the hype but dang. I didn't expect them to get exposed like they did tonight.

debaserr 12-10-2012 10:28 PM

I bet he joins a team with a mediocre QB, a team that he thinks may have a chance at doing something in the playoffs if he is playing his best. Athletes are fucking egomaniacs, he thinks he can pilot a team to a title (defenses had him figured out midway through his first season back after his jail stint; he apparently is done developing as a player, or he just doesn't care anymore).

ThePhanastasio 12-10-2012 11:11 PM

It's December, so Rivers is looking good. **** his O-Line, though. And **** Norv Turner; they really could be so much better...

Bloozcrooz 12-11-2012 12:46 AM

Lol.

Thom Yorke 12-11-2012 08:44 AM

Man, the Texans got completely exposed again on primetime. The favourites are starting to separate themselves from the pack a bit. I'd say the Patriots, Broncos and 49ers are the main contenders right now. Packers, Giants and Texans could be dangerous though. I never bought into the Falcons.

Plankton 12-11-2012 08:58 AM

Right on the money Tom.

Bears... phhhhht! I hope they lose Lovie. Lots of better coaching prospects out their without a job right now.

Bloozcrooz 12-11-2012 11:13 AM

Falcons and Texans. Two teams with good records that I think will disappear fast in the playoffs. I know its a longshoremen but the Colts are playing good ball right now. I don't think anyone expected them to have a better record than Pittsburgh at this point in the season. Or a winning record period and honestly I'm kind of pulling for them. Even though they'll probably fade pretty quick.

Sparky 12-11-2012 11:30 AM

Crazy that ravens fired their offensive coordinator right? or maybe it isnt?

Kind of strange The Ravens are right in the thick of it. Flacco isn't a world beater, but there aren't many qbs in trade that they can do better with.

I'm starting to get annoyed with all of these people talking about Luck like he's an equal to RG3.
