shadeslayer13 04-14-2008 08:00 PM

Guitar, drums, keyboard, tuba, trumpet, and a little bass (mainly because I play guitar).

musiclover3210 05-18-2008 05:29 PM

I wanna get in on this also. I've been a drummer for the past 7 years but I recently picked up the guitar around a month ago. I cant feel my finger tips lol. I wanna pick up bass and the sax eventually some day...I use to play the trumpet in elementary school, those were the days lol. ^harmonica is pretty cool too, you can multi-task while jamming on your guitar!

YourLocalTyrant 06-09-2009 09:20 AM

I play bass, but I've recently started harmonica, which I'm in love with.

zeppy111 06-09-2009 10:25 AM

guitar

Burning Down 06-09-2009 10:34 AM

I study flute in university, been playing it for about 14 years now (omg!)

I also play guitar & bass (12 years of that), and some drums (on and off for about 5 years).

Because I can play flute, I can also play the saxophone. Usually tenor (I own one) but sometimes alto.

Astronomer 06-12-2009 11:10 PM

I play guitar and piano and some bass and my voice.

Trauma 06-17-2009 12:25 PM

The didgeridoo would be fun to learn how to play.

Good pick. It looks so hard to play, but I have heard it done well.

As for me, I don't play any instruments. Here's my list from what I want to learn first:

-Piano (I know a little, but not enough.)
-Bass guitar
-Violin
-Drums
-Cello
-Voice

LoathsomePete 06-17-2009 12:36 PM

I've played guitar for 7 years now, however I'm eying a banjo right now, think I'll save up some money this summer and pick it up sometime in August if it isn't gone by then.

Farfisa 06-17-2009 01:10 PM

you should get a ukulele... and annoy the living fuck out of your friends.

Arya Stark 06-17-2009 02:27 PM

I'd love to learn the acoustic bass. I heard my music teacher playing it and it sounded amazing...

Haha believe me I can do that without the use of a musical instrument, that includes voice.

Me too, living with me my roommates have to put up with A LOT of: piano noises, bad guitar, and singing (in the shower, in the kitchen, everywhere).

Rx Tone 06-22-2009 07:34 AM

Is that why your UN is sogriter1300? -_-

ramms+ein 06-26-2009 05:58 AM

I'd absoutely love to start learning the guitar, also you can get some really kickass sounds out of a keyboard, very heavy sounds too.

FETCHER. 09-21-2009 12:23 PM

Guitar, Bass, Drums, Piano & Flute. i wish i could play. i kick myself for not taking music as a standard grade :(. i cant play any instruments, basic drums & guitar. thats it. n i wouldnt even count that :(.

NumberNineDream 09-21-2009 12:46 PM

I voted guitar tho I don't actually play it. But started learning it 2 months ago. I learned the piano for 2 years when I was 10. I love the piano but I hated playing it, it's too clean. It did help me tho in reading notes and music.

immetoday 09-21-2009 02:38 PM

too many people play the guitar. people need to be at least a little different. if u wana play guitar at least go with bass cause its way better. we need less guitarist in the world and more bassist cause bassists are hard to find and its upsetting -.- but i personally drum =)

Arya Stark 09-21-2009 02:41 PM

I agree with you that more people should learn bass. But it doesn't matter if too many people "play" guitar. Not all of them play well, and that's more important than playing an instrument just to be different.

storymilo 09-21-2009 02:51 PM

I play piano (and it doesn't suck) and recently I've been picking up the guitar. So far so good.

*raises hand* Currently learning bass!

Farfisa 09-21-2009 05:59 PM

Bass players aren't too hard to find, now drummers, good ones are very rare nowadays.

Antonio 09-21-2009 06:34 PM

i guess it depends on the are on what's availible instrumentally. like i hear people in other states looking for a drummer or bass player, but where i live alot of band are having a tough time looking for lead guitarists, as strange as it may sound.

Bass players and drummers were always hard for me to find when I was starting a band. Even guitarists sometimes. I play some guitar, but more ensemble pieces than anything.

Exactly. I think it's also difficult finding someone easy to work with. Yeah there are a lot of good guitarists, but who's to say they get along well in a band?

Dr.Seussicide 09-21-2009 09:16 PM

You don't have violin =/

I'd choose violin

i've read the advice to this situation so many times from so many musicians it's not funny anymore but ultimately it boils down to this.

if you have to choose between a cool person / friend who isn't that good at the instrument or someone who's great at the instrument but doesn't get along with anyone else. choose the crappier musician. technical ability with an instrument is WAY easier to change than another person's attitude.

This is so very, very true. I've seen so many bands falter because the dynamic s of their relationships weren't working for them. Attitude and amiability are very important when it comes to making music with a group of people, IMO.

As above, I also agree.

One of my main reasons for starting Bass, other than to find a new musical identity, was because there is such a shortage of them in Alabama.
Also, i'd say it all has to do heavily with timing.
Where as two years ago, there were hardly any bassists, now we're overrun with them.
The major "want" right now is a decent singer.
I suppose that's always a "want" though :P

Also, I picked Other for harmonica.

Erin<3 09-22-2009 02:33 PM

I play the clarinet, and a little bit of saxaphone.
I don't like playing the saxaphone or the clarinet, but it's going to be what's getting me a scholarship.
