Most overrated bands ever?

Maybe saying something like Dow Jones And The Industrials and Bruce Lose are overrated would be wrong but 13th Floor Elevators are a very popular well known band who lots of people listen to. While I do like them most people that I know who listen to them or from reviews I have read tend to overrate them. It's just my opinion, I don't see why your bothered.

I don't know many people that like Coldplay. Just because they are a big really widely known band doesn't make them anymore overrated than say 13th Floor Elevators.

It doesn't matter if you don't know anyone that likes Coldplay. Aren't you aware of their ridiculously high record sales and their massive sold out concerts around the world that sell out in like ten minutes?

Yes I am but let me give an example of a band I enjoy, the Velvet Underground. They sold very few records during there prime yet they are possibly on of the most popular bands from the 1960s today with underground music lovers. I'm not saying they are overrated but record sales etc only mean so much.

But yes, Colplay are more overrated but what's the point in everyone saying the same bands in every thread like this. That would be silly Billy.
