Quote:

THE lead singer of Welsh rock band Lostprophets has been charged with conspiracy to rape a child under 13.

Ian Watkins, 35, of Pontypridd, appeared before Cardiff magistrates yesterday to face a total of six charges relating to sexual offences against children.

The 35-year-old, whose band have sold more than 3.5 million albums worldwide, is alleged to have conspired with another woman to rape a one-year-old girl, Cardiff magistrates heard.

He also stands accused of two incidents of conspiring to engage in sexual touching with two young children; possessing, making and distributing indecent images; and possessing "extreme" animal pornography.

The conspiracy charges related to a period between May 1 and Monday, while the indecent images related to a period between August 12 and Monday.

Defending barrister Tom Crowther said his client — dressed in a black hooded top and looking visibly tired — would be denying the charges and argued that his celebrity status could help to enforce bail conditions.

He also added that Lostprophets had cancelled a planned tour, Watkins had no previous convictions and his mother, who was sitting in the public gallery, was willing to put forward her house as a surety.

But presiding magistrate Alan Knight opted to remand Watkins — along with two women aged 20 and 24 — into custody.

The women, who face similar child sex allegations, cannot be named for legal reasons.

All three will appear before Cardiff Crown Court on Monday, December 31.

Because more youtube hits = money. This is because advertisers pay popular channel owners to advertise on those channels.

Universal, Sony, and RCA want/need money just like everyone else.

Ah, that makes sense. I wonder if it was worth it, now that they've gotten in trouble.

They probably don't have much to lose since they're quickly becoming irrelevant and obsolete and because everybody just steals their product and shares it online anyway.

Tom needs to learn how to count...

Quote:

Sony/BMG's was hit the hardest with views dropping from a total of more than 850 million to just 2.3 million. RCA declined by 159 million views to a total of 120 million. Universal lost more than 1 billion views and now stands below 6 billion.

They were hit the hardest because they had the largest percentage of views deleted.

I get that, but you'd think that getting slapped in the face 1 billion times is more than 847.7 million in the real world... oh yeah... this is virtual.

fck %ages.

I'd say losing 95% of your views is much worse than losing 10%.

Yep.

That depends on weather you lose 95% of your face by getting slapped 847.7M times or not.

Former Benson High teacher sentenced again for drug crimes, gets 5 1/2 years prison | OregonLive.com
That was my middle school Spanish culture teacher. She was beyond incompetent and the school fired her when I was in 6th grade. She threw a hissy fit claiming they tried to fire her because she's gay (no one knew she was gay, she wore a wedding ring) so the school district sent her to work at another school (Benson) where 5 or so years later she gets fired for meth possession. And now she's at it again.

Icelandic girl fights for right to her own name - Yahoo! News

It's not mind-blowing, but it just never occurred to me that there are governments that dictate what a person can name their child. Seems kinda crazy!

Rescued by a Bailout, A.I.G. May Sue Its Savior - NYTimes.com

Quote:

Fresh from paying back a $182 billion bailout, the American International Group Inc. has been running a nationwide advertising campaign with the tagline “Thank you America.”

Behind the scenes, the restored insurance company is weighing whether to tell the government agencies that rescued it during the financial crisis: thanks, but you cheated our shareholders.

The board of A.I.G. will meet on Wednesday to consider joining a $25 billion shareholder lawsuit against the government, court records show. The lawsuit does not argue that government help was not needed. It contends that the onerous nature of the rescue — the taking of what became a 92 percent stake in the company, the deal’s high interest rates and the funneling of billions to the insurer’s Wall Street clients — deprived shareholders of tens of billions of dollars and violated the Fifth Amendment, which prohibits the taking of private property for “public use, without just compensation.”
These people need to be publicly spanked with a very large hand.
