California has laws that don't help, but SF picked the wrong horse in regards to ideology, which shapes their approach to dealing with crises. I don't believe that the city is somehow powerless in regards to better policy-making. Even the housing stuff could be dealt with if they just admitted they had a real problem and worked to solve it. But the city has consistently rejected proposals for new types of public housing from various interest groups. So....*shrug*.

I realize you’re hellbent on making this about political parties, but it really isn’t, which was my point.
