North Korea missiles: US warships deployed to Korean peninsula - BBC News

Draft card burning party at my place!

Hawk provided examples of where the US has implemented overarching government control and regulation of certain areas, then kinda continues on the "crapitalism is crap" narrative. Maybe we should consider the fact that the US isn't a fully a capitalist or free market society before blaming all of the problems on it.

What happened was I tore apart Ant's ignorant bull**** and then you simplified the exchange to make it easier for you to deal with.

I was simply pointing out that the US isn't a fully capitalist society, so it would be rather silly to blame capitalism for failures we see. You haven't once attempted to explain why capitalism is as bad a system as socialism/communism, you just mentioned some elements of the US that isn't capitalism.

Letting the market decide the price of goods has always been a more successful strategy than allowing the government to control things.

Our entire government is obviously public sector.

The FBI, CIA, NSA, all public sector socialist institutions. Everyone who works at the Pentagon. The IRS. The police. NASA.

The Apollo missions. Pretty much every space endeavor by any country. Splitting the atom was a public works program. We actually out communisted the Soviets to win the Cold War.

Banks and auto industries bailed out by socialist policy. Subways. Busses. School.

Sounds like you're under the impression that anything the state does = socialist but ok

What's socialist about the military? Is it not quite the opposite, when we consider its tasks like union breaking, strikebusting, and quelling protests and riots, thus upholding and strenghtening the capitalist system?

What does it even mean to "out [communist] the Soviets"? Lots of research institutions in Norway are publicly owned. Is Norway a communist country?

You'd really have to make the case for "always" there because most people think things like, say, price gouging during a crisis are pretty terrible.

Especially in the age of monopolies and cartels.

The way it's funded. In other words everything.

Reagan didn't buy all those missiles with his leftover TV revenue. They were bought by the state. There's nothing free market about America's nuclear arsenal.

I'm not advocating either system. I hate capitalism more because it's the one that is most actively ruining my life, personally.

That can happen when the government controls the price of goods (creating it's own monopoly), but under a capitalist/free market system there is at least the availability for people to compete with each other in order to lower prices even if one particular company raises their prices.
