Bat, you astound me. Not often. Not very often at all. But when you do, it's always worth the wait. Tooch.

With most of us being dudes covering trauma with cavalier humor you kind of have to treat it like a night out with the boys shellac'ing each other like siblings tricking each other into drinking pee. The assumed/false intimacy of the internet only makes it more intense.

Advice from MB should obviously be taken with a grain of salt, but in this thread people should be able to count on getting support. I think this thread is mostly supportive, but still. It's possible to joke about mental illness or other grave subjects without hurting anyone. The disrespectful jokes are mostly unfunny anyway.

-you could keep that kind of interaction for the people who are into it -as I said, you can use humour and banter without being hurtful

Yes, but tough love can be respectful. But if it is fine with him it's ok with me
As I said, I'm not even sure that you did. Idk

"It is an expression used when someone treats another person harshly or sternly with the intent to help them in the long run." harsh/stern does not mean disrespectful. And why would this be a "female perspective"?

Bruh my family is people like you. What you think is tough love is just puffing yourself up like a peacock and looking down on other people to inflate your own ego. People like you have no business pretending to look out for anyone else cause all you're looking out for is your own fragile male ego. I'm gonna guess you'll totally disagree with this because your own experience says that this is deflection but your experience is probably with a family of emotional retards like mine. Otherwise you'd be someone different.
