I'm assuming it's just a pie made with squash filling. Kinda making me queasy just thinking about it.

Thanks for the kind words, Batty! Being called "the least uninteresting person you've ever met" is pretty much the best compliment I could receive! EDIT: The pie was BUTTERNUT SQUASH and it was ****ing delicious and don't you forget it. |

It's good to have you back here, you were missed, though I'm sure the kids miss you more over there. Bring back any good coffee? ;) Man, I remember your little cute bunny-type avatar, the first time I met you. Whatever happened to that? |
Quote:
As for coffee, no I didn't. But I did drink it while I was there! And that avatar... not sure what ever happened to it. Maybe I should bring it back? Hmm. |
mordwyr: Love that he's sort off gone out of the "last album you downloaded" thread and joined the conversation in other threads. Seems like a nice dude.
|
For every thoroughly insufferable member here there's a genuinely nice, funny person to find. I don't really interact with individuals much anymore, I just kind of float around half-lurking nowadays, but I've noticed several relatively new members that are really cool and interesting, so keep doing what you guys are doing. It's balancing out all the utterly unpleasant people.
A prime example being mordwyr. Really cool guy |
In honour of my 800th post, I'm going to do a massive spill.
RoxyRollah and Briks were the first people to accept me as part of the crowd back in February/March, and they're two big reasons why I returned. Both are great people who I'd be happy to meet in real life. I always enjoy discussing and debating music with Frownland. He makes me reexamine my perception of music. Plus, I know that he's not going to throw a hissy fit, and he concedes a point when it's made. Ki and ladyislingering: both awesome, laid back folks with great senses of humour. They're usually online in the evenings at the same time as me, and I love going back and forth with either of them in the Lounge or the Shoutbox. If I plugged with LiL, I'm sure I'd like every song she played. Psy-Fi, DriveYourCarDownToTheSea, and Lisnaholic have all helped me greatly in my exploration of folk and psych. If I see one of them is the last poster in a thread, it always gets a click. I get the impression that behind the diabetic toes and dick jokes, The Batlord is actually a damned good guy with quite a bit of depth. Dude knows his stuff. DwnWthVwls and WhateverDude are two cool fellows who I always enjoy talking to in The Lounge, especially now that WD has cut down on his drinking. Not sure what they're into musically, but I'm confident that will come. Words do not exist to describe Neapolitan. The guy is amazing. Hilarious, friendly, stays out of forum politics, and has bitchin' taste to boot. Mondo Bungle has given me a ton of great psych recommendations, and plugging with him is always a unique experience. misspoptart, Blarobbarg, Ninetales, Justthefacts, Wpnfire, and bob. are great people who I'm excited to interact with more in the future. On the rare occasion that my paths cross with Mojo and wolverinewolfweiselpigeon, I'm always struck by their eloquence and down-to-earthness. I've always looked up to James, since he joined the forum as a teenager. I enjoy everything he posts, and I've noticed similarities in our writing style. Very cool guy. Trollheart has been a huge help to me since I signed up. I read all his journals. His over-the-top dad humour is self-mockingly hilarious. Awesome guy and the heart of MB. My most embarrassing moment on MB came when I thought Engine was a train nerd and messaged him a technical question. I still blush when I think about it. Thankfully, he's cool enough to forget about it. Chula Vista, grindy, JustinJJustin, and Machine are more recent additions to the community who have gained my respect. I often wonder if Josef K is really fourteen. My tastes don't overlap much with Carpe Mortem, but I think she's a great gal. Wish she posted more. There was a time after the Grammar Nazi incident when mutual dislike existed between TheBig3 and myself. I have no idea what he thinks of me now, but I'm of the opinion that he's got great taste, and I enjoy his humour and rants. Goofle is a wealth of music knowledge. I could ask him for a recommendation, and he could name ten bands that fit the bill. Respect. I honestly have no idea what music Vanilla likes, but she's a great mod and very likable. More respect. Janszoon is just an awesome guy who I know I can go to if I have a question or concern. Like Goofle, he's got incredibly diverse taste. One of Music Banter's writers as well. At first, I disliked Urban Hat€Monger ?. I labelled him as condescending and overly critical. Now I've come to realize that he's a great mod and actually a pretty cool guy. I can honestly say that I don't dislike anybody currently. The last 800 posts have been fun. |
thank you sweetie!

Thanks, Pet_Sounds! You're a pretty cool dude, and a great addition to the community. I've really enjoyed interacting with you since I've been back!

Music and deliberate avoidance of conversation usually helps. |
Driving is a rage trigger for me, so I'm much happier riding my bike to work every day, at my own pace, not getting stuck in traffic.

And LiL, I'd plug, but it's too late here right now -- I'm three hours ahead of you. |

Thanks for the kind words Pet Sounds! I see a lot of myself in you, and that's one of the reasons I'm always enjoying your posts and rooting for you! This site can be tough for a bright eyes young idealist, I know it was for me at times, but it really is great as an intensive course in finding your taste.
|
Thanks Pet_Sounds (have to be careful or that could sound gay!) already one of my newer friends here and one of the reasons I came back to this place. Well, there were many, but I missed people and you were certainly near the top of the list.
God, that Engine line! Absolutely bloody hilarious! Just in case anyone wonders, I do NOT have an interest in bridges... :shycouch: That's Buzz Killington, I believe. |

I guess for me it's more about mental health, stress levels, etc than saving time. Of course, here distances are much shorter.
|
it's weird for me cause i don't get stressed when i'm driving at all. unless someone is being a serious dick i really don't care. even if i get stuck behind someone slow. i just zone out and listen to music and smoke or something along those lines.
but walking in stores, then i get agitated with people. cause they really waddle around like they don't know their fat ass is in the way. |
You have fat people there??
|
i live in the south...
|
I always try to keep in mind that drivers may have ****ty brakes or tiny little engines, so being slow is forgivable. Cutting me off, however.. Dick move.
Also thanks for the mention P.S., you seem like a downright likable chap. The kind of pleasant dude I feel accurate in calling 'chap'. |

There's such a thing as too high a price. And any girl who'd actually sleep with a guy like that would probably make the skin peel off my dick.
|
Them girls got chlamydia, yo.
