Yeah and they always determine whcih genres are dying and then what band gets to "save it."

Its a bunch of ****, Rock and Roll never asked for you to be its savior, go away.

That's difficult because so many great artists were from the U.S. and U.K. If I had to chose according to my collection of music it would have to the British and my favorite band of all time is Led Zeppelin.

I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say that Big Star is a discredit to american superiority.

I think American music set the template-Blues, Rock N Roll etc, and the British polished it to a bright shine! I prefer British bands on the whole, as I can identify with them more and British music has been phenomenally successful in the past, but RnB and rap seems to be dominating the media these days, that British bands get lost in the quagmire.

Out of the more sucessfuls artist that have come from America, I can say I like barely a handful, I prefer bands less mainstream from America.

However the Blues and Soul from America, is pretty much untouchable.

California pwns all. Sublime, Grateful Dead, Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the whole hyphe scene, Maroon 5, and tons of others which I've forgotten in my head-achey state.

You're using the hyphy scene as a selling point for California music? Haha.
