Bardo Pond - Amanita (1996)
A fairly decent psychedelic/space-rock album with a nice mixture of quiet spaced-out moment and walls of noise. It's quite a lengthy album and some songs don't grab you on first listen so I'm guessing this album is going to take a few listens to get into.

Haha i was goin to post this same thing! :D

Great minds think alike.

It's probably one of the Jazziest things they've put out thus far. It was quite unexpected! Check it out friends.

Hateful Abandon - Move.

Downloaded upon the suggestion of Jackhammer, looking forward to giving this a spin.

^ love that cover and Jackhammer makes great suggestions in both music and film....think i'll look into that as well

DOOOOMMMM!!!!!!!

two new doom albums

finally a new Corrupted album :)

Corrupted - Garten der Unbewusstheit
http://www.mcwsm.com/wp-content/uplo...ldashes002.jpg

two epic tracks with one 4 minute (mini) track in between.....as with all Corrupted releases this is beyond funeral doom....the production is actually really good this time around....which at first was a bit weird....not as gritty as their other releases....but it actually work really well as the band seems to be progressing with their sound....but rumor is they are breaking up.....which sucks as this really is a step in a great direction for them

Northless - Clandestine Abuse
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-odb0pjXoFj.../Northless.jpg

sort of southern sludge doom from some boys in the north....its pretty good mixture of typical doom chords, sludgy stoner rock, and a bit of post metal/rock...

Decided to check this out as well, I was pretty surprised, I'm not use to hearing modern post-punk that sounds so inspired by Killing Joke's first LP.

Despite the fact that Lisztomania and 1901 were played to god-damned death on the radio and in pop culture, I still think that's a highly enjoyable and uplifting indie album that's pretty solid throughout.

Track 3 - Copper Foundation is VERY Killing Joke but I can hear so many other bands influencing the sound too. I love the fact that vocally almost every song sounds different yet it is the same vocalist. Glad you liked it though and Stu too!

I have had this album for a couple of years and I am in the process of sorting through my music, deleting low B/R albums or WMA albums that I own on C.D so I can rip again and it was like hearing it for the first time. A fantastic collection of African music that takes in Reggae, Afro Beat, Soul, Blues etc etc. A great appetiser for anyone interested in spreading their wings into another continents music.

OK not an album but it is something I have been after for years and years. It is the full 39 minute version of the track Blue Room from around 1992. If you like the Orb or Electronic chillout then you will love it. If not, it will bore you to death!

Anyone interested in this ^ should checkout (if they haven`t already) a group I discovered thanks to a mention from bob: The Kilimanjaro Dark Jazz Ensemble. For once, the name of the group tells you what you`re going to get !

Still catching up with old MB recommendations, the last albums I got were by Harmonium. First, thanks to tore, this one: http://www.musicbanter.com/prog-psyc...on-1975-a.html, and then their subsequent double album, L`Heptade, which has a few weak orchestral tracks, but is otherwise excellent too.

M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming (2011)
I've been waiting impatiently for this follow-up to Saturdays = Youth and I was surprised to see it leak so early (not due out until the end of October). I feel a bit underwhelmed though, the first 3 songs are excellent and gives you the impression that you are in for one epic album, but after that you start to lose interest a bit, especially on disc 2. Although there are some good moments throughout the album there seems to be a lot of filler, especially the short minute and a half instrumental tracks. The album seems to lack the memorable songwriting that was present on Saturdays = Youth but M83 have always been a album band so maybe a few more listens of this album from start to finish will reveal more.

very good stuff there....also check out The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation....who are associated with the above mentioned

i am really enjoying the Hateful Abandon album.....it seems to me to be much more than what people are initially saying about.....i mean there are some wonderful "Killing Joke" elements.....but i feel these songs are quite epic within themselves.....i love the vocals as well.....and the structured noise overlapping the great bass lines....really this should be more popular than it is....just a damn good album

todays experiment....

Marc Almond & Michael Cashmore - Feasting With Panthers
http://dlspace.net/uploads/posts/201...617201831.jpeg

i've never really been a fan of Almond....actually for the most part i simply find him whinny and annoying....but i do really enjoy most of the work that Cashmore has done....as a solo artist and with both Current 93 and Nature and Organization.....from what i've read Cashmore recorded all the music in Berlin and Almond the vocals in London.....the two never met in person once during the recording....and the whole process has taken years to finish....again from what i've read this is basically a concept album celebrating the poems of Jean Genet...Rimbaud....Paul Verlaine and others and mixed with baroque chamber pop music

Opeth - Heritage (2011)

Yeah this is gonna cause a lot of bitching in the metal community. Party 1 is gonna say it's another stellar addition to Opeth's superb discography and party 2 is gonna say that it's severely overhyped by party 1.

Not really listened to much Sparks other than Kimono & Indiscreet.
This is the album they did with Giorgio Morodor so I figured that would be as good a place as any to start.

Opeth was my favorite band when i was a teenager. I loved the band but I have to say that Still Life is the only album that I enjoy alot anymore :/ I like the albums before Still Life and I even like Blackwater but other than that I don't like them that much. Watershed was such a ****ty piece of an album that I stopped caring about the band. I listened to Heritage and I have to say that it was better than Watershed but I didn't enjoy it that much. I don't know if the band has gotten worse or is it because I don't enjoy listening to metal like I did when I was a teen.

Ringo Deathstar - Sparkler (2009)
A solid compilation comprising of their 2007 self-tiled EP and early singles. Even though the band sound a little bit too much like The Jesus and Mary Chain at times there are some brilliant songs here. I might even love this as much as their full-length debut Colour Trip.

http://finestkiss.files.wordpress.co...ry_colours.png

The Horrors - Primary Colours (2009)
I dismissed these guys as a silly NME-hyped cartoon band when they first emerged, probably due to their cameo in The Mighty Boosh, but now I've been convinced to check them out. This is a very different sounding band than the one I first heard and this album is actually pretty damn good! The music sounds like a collision between early-90's shoegaze and early-80's post-punk, with an obvious MBV influence. This gets my seal of approval.

Also if anyone has a link to their new album Skying could you send it my way please :) all links seem to be removed.

Hey Everybody,
I don't know if this counts but I found this band I like called "The Spam Spam of Spam" on Spam.spm (a website that you can listen to free music online). The album is called "“Spam From Your Spam, The Spammer" and I can listen to the songs as many times as I want for free. Many other artists are able to be downloaded because this site has a lot of free spam downloads too. Enjoy!
