To be fair I always buy in sales and sometimes even charity shops. I don't go out a huge amount so that's what I spend my money on. I got Hidden on DVD for three pounds-result!

The very best of the doors

http://static.rateyourmusic.com/album_images/836644.jpg

sounds like they totally remixed these classic tracks as they sound clearer and more up to date (better then just digitally re mastering them). Also, Jim Morrison's voice is a lot more clearer and in your face then the original versions (which wasn't the best idea since Jim wasn't the greatest vocalist.)

He was'nt the greatest vocalist technically but he had an iconic style and charisma that made him a great vocalist.

without a doubt, I agree... those songs are what they were because of Jim's voice. I'm just saying, hearing this latest mix of those songs really makes you realize how off he sometimes was technically but the songs and Morrison are still great.

Definitely. When The Doors clicked they REALLY clicked. Did you ever hear the album they released after Morrisons Death Other Voices? Ray and Robby were on vocal duties. There is some great music on ther and the vocals are adequate but it still feels like something is (obviously) missing. Worth a listen to though.

No I haven't... I will definitely check that out though. Morrison had a great voice in the unconventional sense, much like Lou Reed (who is one of my favorites).

That's not bad, i'd say the 2nd one is the epitomy of boring though.

Nothing new (music wise) but bought this today:
http://www.yawam.info/images/albums/...oon_safari.png

I bought it when it first came out, got bored and chipped it on. Now it's a full circle and bought it because it's a classic.

Another album bought on hard copy. It is not the most original album out there but I still love listening to it.

Yeah their first album is the shit but then they had to go and do this

sweet_nothing 05-16-2008 10:15 PM

dude wtf? that sounds like rave music or something...:(. why do bands always do this ? Change their sound on the second album, like the Killers, I really liked their first album but then Sam's Town came out and sucked. Well now i'm not getting their second album...probably not anyway.

They kinda sold out or just don't care anymore.

You people are crazy sometimes, Flux is a brilliant song.

GravitySlips 05-18-2008 02:42 PM

Flux is definitely better than ANYTHING else by Bloc Party.

cabangbangq 05-18-2008 02:48 PM

I almost bought It's a Shame About Ray. I ended up not doing it because of lack of money so I got:

NIN - Broken
NIN - The Fragile
The Breeders - Pod
Portishead - Dummy
Husker Du - Everything Falls Apart
