Sonic Youth, Pavement and Mclusky if you haven't heard them already.

Have one Sonic album and a Mclusky, but I haven't listened to them for a while. It was probably during a period when my dad was trying to turn me onto that music and I rejected anything he reccomended.

Its different but so so brilliant. A really great dance song, even better in a club.

yeh it's good for a club, but so different than anything on Silent Alarm.

In a sense, not really. They were still very dancey songs in the same way, they just were more guitar orientated rather than synth. Bands have made bigger departures in the past.

Pretty solid album, J's voice has definitely gotten worse, but musically and lyrically it's great like the other Spiritualized albums. It will be on my Best of 2008 list.

what? all though i don't get the term britpop to be honest i mean Oasis and Blur sound nothing alike.

I think its a blanket term for all the british guitar bands that were successful at that point, they don't have to sound similar.

oh but still good bands
