I'm not surprised at all, whenever I see a popular mainstream band or artist inducted into the Hall of Fame. Its obvious they don't base the decision of induction on the amount of talent or innovation an artist or band has. It's all based on mass media and mainstream music.

In the context you're meaning or thinking, probably Green Day does fit the bill.

They're not the first mediocre band to sell millions and get Grammy's, in the R&R Hall of Fame. I'm not wrong here, just saying.

She is gone? Hm, didn't even notice! I'd say happy day to her no longer being here, but that'd be mean.

One of my favorite bands were a nominee this year, Nine Inch Nails. I like to think that Trent Reznor actually was pretty innovative, and I'd say he shaped at least the world of industrial/electronic rock/metal in some way. I think Nine Inch Nails were far more deserving to get in than Green Day.

But, I'd rather Nine Inch Nails not be a part of it, giving it thought. The people behind the R&R Hall of Fame do not base in those that get in on what it should be based on, clearly.
