STFU, I made an effort to like DSOTM and The Wall. Credit where credit's due.

You made an effort to like the wrong ones, though! Though I will admit based on our previous PF conversations your new ratings for the band are shock enough. :p:

Also, I haven't really talked much jazz here so I dunno how unpopular this will be:

Free Jazz/Improv. > Avant-Garde Jazz > Anything modal, bop, etc.

Essentially, no structure > structure for jazz.

In general that is. Of course exceptions exist, but for the most part.

Room on Fire is better than Is This It...

Eh. I'd say Is This It is better, but really, not much.

It and 'Under Control' are my faves...

There's no way Reptilia and Under Control are better than Last Nite and Someday

Violent & Funky 12-09-2010 04:10 PM

Ummmmm... yeah?

RVCA 12-09-2010 04:13 PM

No, you're wrong.

I concentrated on the right one I feel. I didn't even force myself to like it, just repeated listens found myself nodding along and really getting into it. Dunno how it happened but I'm glad it did. I really appreciate the aesthetic value of The Wall as well.

Well to be fair I picked out those two because you said you didn't like Let Love In, which is a lot closer to Ballads and Tender Prey. I figured if you are going to like anything it would be his most recent two albums with the band.

Painfully popular within most jazz circles :(
