I am sure if I took the time to study him I could find interest. I find Jim Morrison to be a great frontman and interesting person, I just am not huge on The Doors. I like what he represents, I just do not like the music he creates all that much. That is all it is with him.

For this reason alone, his image is just as influential as his music. Somebody may like one without the other.

I never said that. However, tell me more about punk dying.

Punk is dead in a mainstream sense, but it is very much alive in the underground, where it belongs. It is touring still for next to nothing in dive bars, it is being played in basements at parties, it is being dragged kicking and screaming through the dirt while 20 angry rednecks kick that crap out of it, it is being spit on by scene kids and having garbage thrown at it... it is also kicking people's asses in small dive clubs though.
