I pretty much agree with all of those statements (except Procol Harum since I don't really listen to them). I especially agree with you about Gallagher.

Discipline is a great album, but I wouldn't say it's their best. King Crimson has such a strong discography with a fair amount of eclecticism (for rock that is). It's really hard to name their opus because a lot of their albums are great in their own unique way. On another note, I'm surprised I actually like Discipline because it sounds very similar to The Talking Heads (I don't like The Talking Heads).

I'd rather listen to Tony McPhee than Rory Gallagher to be honest.

Talking Heads who they were trying to sound like on their three albums between 81-84 did this sound far better. Saying that though, Three of a Perfect Pair was easily the best of these three albums.

I`m talking more about the feel and style and sure as musicians KC are going to really add something in that department. When I think of KC`s best work its largely split into two sections. Firstly, their first phase when fronted up by Greg Lake on bass and vocals and secondly the 3-piece line up with John Wetton on bass and vocals. Best two albums have to be In the Court of the Crimson King which is amazing, because not that many prog groups of that era put out such amazing debut albums and Red that album I`d say is a contender for one of the greatest albums ever recorded, the intensity and atmosphere on that album at times is blistering.

I think Beck's greatest album is Midnight Vultures (1999) and not Sea Change (2002) or Odelay (1996). That's right, bring on the pain!
