Could be said of almost any pop hit single, honestly. Paradise by Coldplay especially needs more hate though, it already was subpar to what they used to make but then it gets overplayed a thousand times and you end up with it stuck in your head even though you don't even like the bloody song.

Every album they ever released is an unpopular music opinion?

I've always thought they were a fairly popular opinion.

It's music, it's just not enjoyable. An unpopular opnion would be: "Nicki Minaj's Stupid Hoe is music". Of course I highly disagree with that statement but there's prolly a couple of weirdos around here who do think so.

I wasn't mocking what you said (in fact I was under the impression it was a short well written critique) I thought the silly part in your statement worked better for The Housemartins - I just didn't think The Escape Club was as silly as The Housemartins - that's all. I really don't know much about The Escape Club tbh I wouldn't had guessed them as alternative, they seem like typical 80's pop imo.

How is a jangly guitar band in a decade of jangly guitar bands in a country full of jangly guitar bands signed to small labels an alternative to anything.
Well maybe a jangly guitar band in a decade of jangly guitar bands etc was the alternative to the synthy sounds of synthy bands in a decade of synthy bands etc etc.

I don't really care too much for Coldplay, I don't really listen to much of that kind of stuff. Early Weezer and Radiohead is pretty cool, though.

But, yeah, most pop hits are just songs intended to appeal to people in the midst of a numb-state of mind. It's the same thing with modern rock, for the most part- Seether and that kind of stuff.

Intro, chorus, verse, chorus, verse maybe and then the chorus is quietly repeated with few instruments in the background and then you have the chorus repeated.

I really like 'Scars' by Papa Roach, though.
