Like that's disgusting, shut the hell up.
Lighten up, grandpa.

Cool

Hi everyone. I'll start my first reply to a thread ever on 'MB' with an opinion on Black Sabbath and their offshoot Heaven And Hell. I for one think that the 2009 album 'The Devil You Know' should've been released under the Black Sabbath moniker. YES, the original lineup of Butler, Iommi, Osbourne, and Ward is the definitive lineup. However, the Dio era was EVERY bit as artistically strong as the original lineup, something that can RARELY be said about subsequent incarnations of other bands.

To go a little further, I'll go as far to say that lineup of Sabbath (Appice, Butler, Dio, and Iommi) is arguably the GREATEST "Mach II/III" incarnation in the history of popular music! Yes...they're that good! Let's discuss!

Well they called themselves Heaven and Hell because Black Sabbath with Ozzy are doing tours and releasing albums again, and you can't really have two bands called Black Sabbath running around.

As a fan of music commentary and criticism here's something that I think has some merit. I think ANY band or artist who says they don't care what critics and/or journalists have to say about their music THEY'RE LYING! In short order, NOBODY wants to see their body of work ripped apart by a major publication. In most cases, I think musicians DO crave critical acclaim as much as they enjoy selling units, no matter how much they deny it. Your thoughts? Pro and con.

The mainstream music industry is shady business. They cash you for all its worth then leave you out to dry.

I agree with your statement, but I'm having trouble finding out how on earth it would be considered unpopular, especially here.

Tool is boring and overrated. Apart from a song or two I like, I don't think they're worth the hype.

You're right.

Its pretty common knowlege here but the average music listener is probably unware of this. Also, the music business is always presented in a good light in the media compared to what it actually is in reality
