Question this isnt anything to do with the forum but here it goes

i wrote some lyrics a while back and i want an honest opinion
Anti-social Living
People call me useless people call me strange.
I like to think of myself being an ABSTRACT painting
Silver bullets, making deep holes inside my soul.
i locked my self away, being far from the anticipation of the word "normal"
Somewhere dark i thought
Someplace cold
Where i could be alone in the darkness
Call it weird , i call it antisocial living.

please inbox me what you think

the best way to describe these lyrics for me would be useless and strange.

Most free jazz I've heard is unlistenable to me. This includes late Coltrane with a few notable exceptions.
"Conscious" rappers are generally much less intelligent than their fanbase believes. Prime example being Mos Def.

^ Haha, I was going to post that exact thing about free jazz and I was also going to post something negative about perceived intelligent hip hop.

I'm in a minority of music enthusiasts that enjoys hip hop to be fun/stupid/hood or a rare intelligent real thing. Usually I dislike any kind of conscious rap and I'm a big fan of some of lamest mainstream rappers in the game, I'll admit it.

Also, blues is done and artists like Joe Bonamassa need to go away.

Also, Animal Collective is not listenable. I'm usually very down with the avant garde side of music, but for me it's dreadful.

I'm sensing a theme going on here, Mr Booth.

Apart from Coltrane, Coleman, and a few others, I wouldn't say that free jazz is a particularly popular genre. I'm speaking from an American perspective though, I know it's more popular in Europe, but I don't know to what extent that would be.

Seems to be a fashionable thing to like online. I remember pretending to like Coleman for e-cred once upon a time.
