Might not be an unpopular opinion, but it's one that I haven't seen around too often. It could be an unvoiced thing.
I wish the two of them would collaborate on more tracks that are as good as "Reagan" instead of releasing all the filler that they put out.

Fripp's the best guitarist of all time.

You know what my point is and using the Yngwie/Jimmy analogy was super lame.

No, it's completely relevant. Technical proficiency does not equal quality. Ynwgie isn't a better artist than Page just because he's a more technically proficient guitarist, and Christina Aguilera's music isn't necessarily better just because she's a better singer.

That would be Marc Ribot.

Who said that Christina > Brittany = artistry?

And it's not relevant. Yngwie is a one trick pony who's written the same song and played the same solo for decades. Christina can do pretty much all of the same stuff that Brittany can do.

It's totally relevant, cause Christina is also technically proficient with her instrument (her voice) but does nothing with it. She also hasn't sold nearly as many albums, and doesn't have nearly as many hit singles, which, let's face it, is pretty much the yardstick for an artist in their profession's worth.

Christina's singing abilities aren't even used in an artistic manner. It's just her gimmick that she's a better singer than her contemporaries. In the end, it's completely irrelevant.
