So i stand by my previous statemant RATM own the 90s

Continuing on CA's post...
You're an idiot on the jazz comment, all your metal band are inferior to jazz bands in musicianship by a long shot.

Jazz drummers >>>>>> Metal Drummers All those Greater than signs were meant literally.

MTV doesn't have a thing to do with quality. My point was that a lot of the bands I mentioned had nothing to do with MTV yet everything he mentioned was mainstream. It just seems convenient that he wouldn't know music outside of the mainstream and thus could be play the blissful ignorance card all day long in a discussion about music.

Dragonforce is a good band but Herman and Sam are somewhat overrated.

A lot of Black Metal is generic and crap. Same thing for a lot Gore Death Metal.

Show No Mercy>Reign in Blood

Here's one:

Being an extremely technically skilled musician does not make you a good musician by any means. Songwriting is what it all comes down to. If you can write a good song, and you're technically skilled enough to play that song, you're a good musician, regardless of how easy it may be to play your song. By this rationale, even Kurt Cobain could be considered a good guitarist. And I believe he was. There is no difference between good guitar playing and good songwriting. Unless, of course, you don't write your songs with a guitar. But you know what I mean.

Not totally unpopular, but a seemingly unpopular opinion among fans of extreme metal. Behemoth are pretty boring.

And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that.
