I wasn't bashing pop, why in the hell would i defend Michael Jackson then?.... Add to the fact that the guy in my avatar has pretty much played for every pop artist in existance, including Cher.

I just consider it an annoying thrait to go brag about your superior tastes in music when your second most listened to artist is some annoying whore who substitutes her lack of singing talent with throat noises, shaking her oversized posterior and wearing AC/DC and Yes shirts (probably given to her by her record company) in a ill-fated attempt to win over a rock audiance, its like when Don compared Television to Canibal Corpse.

hiu 05-26-2006 07:30 PM

Shakira is my second most listened to artist? LoL. I don't brag about my superior tastes either, if I do i'm joking.

boo boo 05-26-2006 07:32 PM

So, you actually listened to Shakira various times only as a joke?... Why go through all that trouble just to make a joke that isn't even funny?

How about when you Adidasss had an allout taste in music contest?... What was that all about?

And i meant artist of the week, whatever, perhaps you play your CD player from time to time.

metaliger 05-26-2006 07:32 PM

Radiohead don't suck, their just severly overrated

No, I just "aquired" her most recent album and listened to it a couple of times. I for one listen to what I want and not what people think is good.

That's because he said "Your music is shit and i'm Croatian". Of course i'm going to argue with him.

boo boo 05-26-2006 07:41 PM

Hah, ever since he called Iron Maiden hair metal, i have learned to take his statements with a grain of salt and not take any real offense from them, thats the best advice i could give you, i used to give him a hard time though, lol.

Backstreet Boys can sing much better than Radiohead. There, I said it...lol.

boo boo 05-26-2006 11:00 PM

Technically?.... Yeah, but who cares?? Steve Perry can sing better than Bon Scott.

Not for the band (AC/DC) though, so what's your point?Steve Perry wouldn't be as technically excellent at singing AC/DC songs like Bon Scott...or even Brian Johnson for that matter...was.

boo boo 05-26-2006 11:07 PM

Hypocritical today are we?...

You think Nick Carter would make a better singer for Radiohead than Thom Yorke?.... Get real.

hiu 05-26-2006 11:11 PM

New avatar represent.

boo boo 05-26-2006 11:12 PM

annoying fan boys? Theres MUCH more annoying people out there than radiohead fans.

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-27-2006 10:56 AM

Yeah there is a kind of irony in an emo fan calling radiohead fans annoying

Sneer 05-27-2006 11:00 AM

that thought did cross my mind.

C'mon.... You've seen my freaking LastFM charts.

I don't post on DDDs prog forum much, i just find the discussions to be pretty boring.

You're an Oasis fan who calls other bands pretentious, i'm a ELP fan who calls other bands boring, we all have our faults. :)

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-27-2006 04:43 PM

I like their first 2 albums thats all

stop calling me a fan

boo boo 05-27-2006 04:46 PM

You said you LOVE Oasis, easy to misinterpret your statements.

I only like ELPs first 4 albums, stop calling me a fan. ;)

So...why don't we just enjoy the music we listen to and appreciate others for having different tastes. I think Radiohead is great, but I can see why others would not like them. People want different things out of music, some want inspiration, others want to sing along, others want to be able to ground-punch to it, and others use it as an excuse to get drunk and have premiscious sex.

Don't twist it all around fella!!!I meant that the guys in the Backstreet Boys do a much better job of singing in their band than Thom Yorke could, therefore Thom Yorke is not as good of a singer in the situation, ya see?:usehead: And if you wanna compare bands, the singers of the Backstreet Boys are better singers than what Thom Yorke is!!!Hell, even in Radiohead they might not sound like Thom Yorke does in Radiohead, but the Backstreet Boys would be the better singers no matter if they were in the band or not, ya hear?On top of that, I wasn't talking one on one specifically like you are now, so get it straight!!!

What I've heard from Radiohead was mediocre at best. Granted I haven't listened to them much at all, but it basicly seems like un-inspired, corporate bull ****.

TrampInaTux 05-29-2006 03:40 AM

Don't quote my first post. And you don't know what you are talking about. Listen to some more before you say that, I was stupid enough.

And to call it uninspired corporate bull****? Now you really are asking for it.

Piss Me Off 05-29-2006 04:02 AM

OK Computer is pretty bloody inspired as far as i can tell, give it a listen.

hiu 05-29-2006 04:03 AM

I give Radiohead credit where it is due. They certainly played a good move creating music that pitchfork media reading indie fags would lap up instantly and cream themselves over for years to cum. Bravo.

boo boo 05-29-2006 04:04 AM

You just dislike music with artistic merit... It's just a phase, your tastes will develop and improve in the future, likely by the time you reach puberty.. Prepare for a long journey ahead. :p:

Piss Me Off 05-29-2006 04:06 AM

Hint: They cream over it because its bloody good.

I won't be too "definitive" on them, but I'm certain they're not my cup of tea either :D

Gah.

Imonlydancing 05-30-2006 09:05 AM

Radiohead don't suck, one bit.
some people find them abit dull and boring.
but i think they're talented.

i may have already posted in this thread :]

Cheese 05-31-2006 02:49 AM

Tried, but they just don't float my boat.

jambo 06-09-2006 08:44 PM

You really either have to be a very theory oriented musician or have an interest in audio recording to really understand how talented they are, not to put down people that aren't. Radiohead just isn't the right band for some.

cardboard adolescent 06-09-2006 10:08 PM

That may be true, but to enjoy a band you shouldn't have to "understand how talented they are."
