The new Pearl Jam album is shite. And Pablo Honey is a great album I don't care what all you people have to say.

Pablo Honey is a good album, I never said it wasn't |

Personally I think it's their worst album, probably on par with the bends, but it is still above average
|
Well, Pablo Honey is my favorite. I think The Bends is horrible, I can't even listen to it.

if i recorded songs full of drowning&screaming cats, with badly played recorders in the background, it'd be original, but utter crap. radiohead are just scarily blown out of proportion. which in turn makes me hate them more. i know thats probably lame, but, im sure ill live. |

Shit Sandwitch (Mainstream Rap [50 Cent]) - Sandwitch full of shit Bread and Butter (Most Bands) - Tasty But extremely Plain and lacking depth and taste Ham Sandwitch - (Average Rock Band) - Plain, but adds a certain flavour (the ham) and distinct taste Subway sandwitch (Bands like Tool, Radiohead, Yes) - Tasty, very tasty, unique and appealing and fills your eating needs Of course there are things in between these categories too and these are only examples P.S forgive me if I spelled Sandwitch wrong |

Meh, I don't like Radiohead cause they're original, I like them cause they're a bloody good band. And No-one can deny that!

I never used to be a big Radiohead fan.
This might sound odd but it was Kid A that made me a radiohead fan even though I didn`t like it that much (At first). It was just nice to see a band take a totally different direction and do it well. And being the best live band I have ever seen helps too |
^ yep, and I see them on thursday!
|
I`d love to see them again , I probably will the next time they tour.
After having forked out flights & hotels to see the Stones & Primal Scream i`m not sure I can afford another gig :( |
ah well. They sold out here in like 10 mins or something insane like that
|
Ah I wish they would come where I live, not many decent bands do to be honest.
|
radiohead are good to shoot ducks to
|
Saw them at the V Festival, they were very very very brilliant, and then they played Creep in their second encore, which my geeky companion told me was very significant...
The new stuff sounded great as well. |
But there so depressing and also
|
Not live. Or at all, for that matter, but especially live. The crowd were so pumped it was amazing

Best Radiohead album to start with?
Ok I admit it I have not listened to much radiohead but the few songs I have heard have made me want to check out more.
What would you radiohead fans recommend for a first purchase? I'm looking for the album most likely to turn me into a Raidiohead fan. recommendations like: The Clash = london calling Led Zeppelin = zeppelin 4 Rush = Moving Pictures Prince = Purple Rain Miles Davis = Kind of Blue |
That depends on what kind of music you like. Preferences?
And what songs did you hear? |

I'd really be interested in the fans recommendations. Usually there are specific albums that are viewed as classics from the artists. I am interested in what would be their Zeppelin IV or Sergeant Pepper. What is your favourite? |
hmmm, that's a tough one.
Radiohead have gone through stages in their music. Their First, Pablo Honey, is generally viewed as their worst. it has quite a rough sound, very raw, but i like it, personally. But it isn't as good as their other albums. Notable song(s): Creep their second and third albums, the bends and OK computer, are alike, but only relative to the rest of their work. I really like both of these, but I would prefer OK computer to The Bends Then came a more electronic phase, with Kid A and Amnesiac, followed by Hail to the Thief, which was similar, but heading back towards guitars. My favourite Album(s): OK Computer (guitar melody based) Hail to the thief (electronic Mainly) Sorry to be so vague, but Radiohead are such a band that to take one album to represent them entirely wouldn't be doing justice to the band. I think of those two OK computer would be better for starting off, as it is generally their most acclaimed album, but others might have a different opinion. |

I'm not saying I won't buy more records. I'm looking for the best way in. I like to start with one cd and take it from there. I'm a guitar player (and lover) so it sounds like OK computer might appeal to me best. |
ok then! If you like guitar, then if you like that, then try the bends, and then Hail to the thief. I think that'd work best, but I'm not sure.

Excuse my ignorance. |
nope, albums :D

Ok then they are Radiohead albums!! Now I'm up to speed. |
haha yeah. A little bit at a time is best, I guess! Just post here if you want more info

Thanks I'll start with OK computer next time I'm in a record store. |
Happy Birthday Thom Yorke! :)

RadioHead are just simply brilliant and such iconic music.
Creep is the saddest song ever but seems to make me happy. It is such a powerful song with powerful lyrics. It desserves alot of praise from people. |
*Bump*
I just heard them covering Thief by Can *drools* :D :D :D :D |
The only song I can ever remember by them is Karma Police and it sucked..so if someone has some recommendations by them I will take them and give this band another shot..if its worth it.
|
I would say A National Anthem , I practically orgasmed when I saw them play that live.
But I reckon you`d hate it. |
High and Dry is listener friendly and really good.
