Yeah, none of their albums are bad. But Ten and Vs were really their high points and everything else really pales in comparison IMO.

Ten is great and I think if you combined the good songs from Vs with the good songs from Vitology you'd have another really solid album. I kind lost interest after that and have to admit I haven't heard their last three albums at all.

I wanted to like Velvet Revolver. I tried. Then I saw them live. They are now #2 on my worst concert performance list. Maybe they were having a bad day, but I felt like I was in the gym, watching a high school band play a dance.

I'm indifferent towards this poll. While I like each band I feel that they cannot really be compared. While they are both classified as "grunge" I feel that STP deviates way too much from said title. Also, Scotty's voice is far too diverse from song to song. Actually, the whole band shifts genres from song to song. You could put Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper heart on a Pop station while their most grungiest song, Plush, barely matches categories with the previously mentioned song. Pearl Jam is incredibly consistent in what they produce making both bands incomparable in my opinion.

Definitely Pearl Jam. STP were alright in their time, and I think Weiland may even be a better vocalist than Eddie, but anyone who's seen PJ live knows the answer to this one.

I saw STP live. They played very well at that show but then again they DO have a certain reputation for being shaky for their shows. I guess I just got lucky

The hate for Pearl Jam is amazing when it's one of the best american bands to come out of the 90's.

IMO, Pearl Jam are an excellent band and cant compare then to Stone Temple Pilots (who I personally think are a bit crap). Also the comment say Scott Heron is a 'heroin idiot' or whatever is irrelevant, it shouldnt matter what the artists personal life is like if you like the music and its good then its good man y'know?, look at Layne Staley he was hooked on heroin but wrote some of the most beautiful songs Ive ever heard in my life (check out Jar Of Flies).
Finally I have all Pearl Jam albums and I havent ever really heard a bad album from them at all. Obviously there are the weaker ones but they are all good albums. I also respect Eddie Vedder & Co for not selling out and deliberately destroying their rise to fame as I would have probably loathed them had they become one of these overblown bands like U2 Coldplay Guns N Roses AC/DC etc etc.

The people who hate Pearl Jam are the people who buy Lilly Allen's records.
Also it just makes you appreciate them even more and despise all the (obvious ****e)

Who? The people who hate Pearl Jam aren't moved in the least by their hardly dynamic music and excruciating vocals, not because we're too "soft" to appreciate them, as it seems you were stating. But I've seriously never heard of that lady.
