Still don't like his music, but I do think he deserves to be in here.
My thoughts exactly. Apart from the not liking his music bit. True, I've only got Desire and some best of I picked up second hand in some corner of the country or other, but you just can't deny him a spot really.

This is slightly embarassing, but I only have Highway 61 Revisited and a Greatest Hits, what should I get next?

I can hook you up with a link to Desire if you want - that's a pretty bloody good album.

Blonde On Blonde and Blood On the Tracks (both of which I don't yet have) are two of his most famous ones, so I'd say go for those as well.

Get Blonde on Blonde and Bringing It All Back Home. Those two and Highway 61 are like the big three, they're all similar in style and excellent albums. My fave is Blonde on Blonde. I could never get into Dylan's later career though.

To get a basic idea of Bob Dylan you don't need to listen to his holy trinity and then blood on the tracks and then desire and then his debut. If you wanna explore him sure, but Bringing It All Back Home, or one of the other Holy Trinity albums should give you a good idea.
