I've really started liking them the past month, but a few of the songs I have a hard time falling for.
Any recommendations to broaden my fan-ness?

When i read the headline i nearly had a heart-attack, but hopefully this will bring back a more experimental edge again. And clang.

Calling Sonic Youth a grunge band is silly, to be sure, but they were quite involved in that scene, in terms of influencing and being influenced. Grunge and no wave were major parts of Sonic Youth's development, though they are hardly a grunge band or a no wave band.

On a different note, Daydream Nation is a candidate for greatest album ever, in my opinion. Sister, Evol and Washing Machine are all also quite brilliant, but Daydream Nation is stunning, stunning, stunning.
