I found that making time for intimacy with comfort and affection as the primary goal with the attitude that if coitus happens it happens has led to some great ****ing and to some great not ****ing. Sometimes with really intense orgasms on both sides and sometimes to surprising satisfying non-orgasmic sessions

Definitely, that's my approach as well. It's just hard to adjust to needing to put in all the extra effort, especially because it doesn't always feel like a worthwhile endeavor. I'm stuck in a loop of wondering if my relationship is suffering because of the sex, or if the sex is causing issues within the relationship.

Try not to lose the following things:

Loving physical affection
Some social life
An income
Relationship with music and literature (for someone like you, at least)

Those are things that can leave a dangerous void

Sometimes these things can slip away. I’m not saying hold on at ALL cost just hold on best you can

Probably not the same thing but my last relationship ended almost a year after the last time there was any sex involved. I know it's sad.
