...you click on "new posts" and see a bunch of threads about artists you like. Only to then glance over to the right and see that nUmUsic or some other bollocks spammer made all of the posts.

that feeling when you see a Peet's coffee truck and get sort of excited, thinking they've set up shop near your work, when really they're just going to drop off product at World Market.

Sex appeal? Is that feeling sex appeal? (Sorry I am an Audrey Horne fanboy ooh la la)

Frownland 06-29-2014 09:26 PM

TFW someone that you don't know likes your band's Facebook page but a quick glance at their profile tells you that it's more likely that they did it because of the biblical reference, not the music. #lessthan100likes

You should have brought a big white dog instead, and a little white dog in your pocket.

Seriously though, the likelihood of getting raped at a show like that is like negative ten million, there's no reason I can't go alone.

That feeling when you leave class covered in pig blood and have no date for the prom!

GuD 07-02-2014 04:52 PM

When I only Showed up for 4 hours at work today to do some extra prep and so my boss could leave early but end up making more in tips than I did in hourly wages. My customer service musts been pretty superb today.

60$ in tips for 4 hours work. I've worked 13 hours and didn't make that much. Sweeeeeeeeeet.

^^ What is the minimum wage in the US?

It varies by state.

It's $9.04 here in WA but I know it's lower in some other states.

Grogsy 07-02-2014 07:00 PM

That's fairly low. If you have a full time job the minimum wage scale here is:

Age 16 years - $7:75 per hour
Age 17 years - $9:46 per hour
Age 18 years - $11:18 per hour
Age 19 years - $13:50 per hour
Age 20 years - $16:00 per hour

That's before tax.

ladyislingering 07-02-2014 07:03 PM

what's the cost of living against the average worker's earnings?

also I've heard of this. Do you live in Norway, New Zealand, or Australia? the numbers seem to be really high (as I've heard from faraway friends) there but I've always wondered if maybe the cost of basic things is also higher, or if you guys really are winning as greatly as it would seem.

Grogsy 07-02-2014 07:12 PM

Compared to the US the cost of living is higher also we pay more tax. I am just out of uni and started working in an animal hospital as a junior vet and I earn $56,00 per annum (before tax) which is not too bad. I'm in Australia.

ladyislingering 07-02-2014 07:14 PM

It all seems relatively proportionate then. :)

Grogsy 07-02-2014 07:18 PM

Yeah, as long as I can afford a roof over my head and food to eat, I'm happy :o:

Wait, minimum wage is based on age? That's really interesting I've never heard of anything like that before.

I worked my way up to 12$/hour. I complain a lot about my job but for what it's worth, it's really not so bad. Just incredibly stifling and under-stimulating.

I find it to be really insulting tbh, cause I love girls and in my experience they are the most loyal, kind, patient and compassionate (not to mention sexy) people on earth, dudes on the other hand are mostly trash, so why wouldn't I want to be like other girls (even though obv I am not a girl anyway but..)
Besides it's bullshit, I know lots of girls who are like me.

I also cannot stand girls who act like they're so superior when they only have male friends, those fuckups can't be trusted.

I'm down to my last bit of liquor so I'm drinking it straight and hoping it's enough to get me at least moderately dumb, because honestly, I wasn't just going to go to the shops for liquor and I had nothing else to get.
