Straight up WD you're a far more compassionate and feely person than I am so this just won't go anywhere. Its all gonna boil down to you saying I'm heartless and me failing to see the logic in feelings.

I don't hate animals, but really if we're breeding them for the purpose of food, they owe their lives to us, they are property, they can be treated however. If they're being killed in the wild for sport or food, they obviously haven't evolved to accommodate for our superiority. Survival of the fittest etc.

Had a decent day at work today, made the bus on time, and accidentally took the wrong cold medicine and now I'm a little confused.

It's not just feelings and your 'logic' is equally subjective.

How do you figure? By making an animal's existence happen the animal is thereby forever indebted to us and must endure whatever we please? Why?

Again, this is completely subjective. I think you're over simplifying the subject. Lions are superior because they're built to kill animals that are built to graze? It's not a matter of superiority or inferiority- much like people different animals are just meant for different things. If anything getting caught up on who's 'better' than who is stifling and pointless waste of time. And haven't we as a species grown passed "surviving"? No other species lives like we do, we're completely unique.

Carpe's feelings toward animals make me sad. I'm mostly indifferent toward the existence of most humans but that's because they're assholes and most of the time they're pissing me off.

But I've never met an animal I didn't like.

Really, though, we're at the top of the food chain. Human beings as a species are naturally meat-eaters. Every other carnivorous or omnivorous species on earth kills its meat. Why should humans be different?

WD and LiL, you two are cool, don't get me wrong, and I respect your choice. But have either of you killed a spider for no reason?

Because we can be different and because our current methods of producing meat are barbaric and in some cases unsustainable and environmentally harmful. Most importantly though is that we can and doing so is, I think, morally preferable. It's in the attitude. If you wanna eat meat go ahead, I'm not tryna judge anyone or make anyone feel guilty I'm just providing my views on it- most important of which is that as human beings eating meat is unnecessary and cruel.

Little critters sneak inside my room all the time, I've always shown them the way out. The only time I'd have an issue with it is if it became unsanitary or dangerous. Like Batlord's black widow infestation.

That I agree with. I skipped a field trip to a meat packing plant because I really didn't want to witness any of that. My family buys most of our meat from local farmers who are at least humane.

Then you are absolutely unhypocritical. We're cool.
