Lol we’ll probably plant some flowers but I’m much more interested in growing peppers, carrots, beans, berries, etc. it just sounds exciting, fulfilling, and cost efficient

That's what you do when you get older.
When you're young the tax breaks of owning are too good to ignore.
Plus in most cases it's a wise financial investment for your future.
It also looks great owning if you need a loan for anything.
