Interesting to keep in mind. However the area we are moving into is growing tremendously and home values are skyrocketing. Our $180,000 home sold for $130,000 just 8 years ago! They did a lot of updates but that's still a huge jump in price

We bought our home in 1998 for $172K, right before the bubble and then subsequent 07-08 crash. Fortunately things rebounded and we sold early last year for $490K - when all was said and done me and Linda each walked away with $140K tax free cash in our pocket.

I can't stress enough about finding a good tax person. You just made the biggest investment you'll probably make in your life. Put it in good hand$.

I wish I had the money to think about this stuff.

I did sweet talk the temp agency into giving me a good position that's only a thirty minute walk from where I'm living.

She was kind of condescending telling me that the winter is coming and she doesn't think I'll be able to walk the 30 minutes in the cold and I reminded her that they had me working at the airport where I had a 2 hour and 6 mile walk home every night in the cold.
