She just said that. LOL

A year ago today I woke up in the hospital having survived a suicide attempt. The proceeding year has been the most trying of my life - I was raped, a friend I had grown up with was killed, the closest thing I had to a father died of a heart attack unexpectedly, I lost my job and all financial security, I owe thousands in medical debts, and can't afford to finish school, but I am somehow now the happiest and safest I've ever been.

Come plug with me and help reap the benefits of being alive.

boooo

fine why do you have to take a piss test? Better?

Carpe Mortem 06-10-2014 02:12 PM

A lot of jobs drug test around here, it's basically the norm. Even when I was workin $7/hour jobs in high school I was tested.

But to be honest I'm not sure how picky places are about marijuana usage. I'm pretty convinced I tested THC dirty for the job I have now and they were fine with it, because I was a daily smoker at the time and took no efforts whatsoever to test clean.

Not all that worried. I start Thursday morning and they haven't said when I need to take the test yet, but doubt they'll fire me because I smoke pot here and there. It's probably just to weed out the tweakers, if you'll excuse the pun haha.

wow crazy. most of my jobs have said they do "random drug tests" but ive never had to take one ever. Unless your working out in the field, i dont think companies exercise that here very often.

I'm sure I missed out on the plugging, but wow. I can't imagine the strength it takes to not only survive something like that, but to thrive too. Good for you, seriously.

Crazy ****in week. Got thrown out of a restaurant for being belligerent and drunk. Manager had me by the neck and threw me out. So I tagged their store window and bailed. It was one of the places I tried to get a job at and they snubbed me off before they even saw my résumé. ****ing poshies. Pretty much cracked and had a mental breakdown over negative balance in bank account and life frustrations. Wound up in Psych ER and went through alcohol withdrawal which was utterly ****ty even with some medications they gave me. I'm such a ****in pvssy sometimes I can't even stand the sight of me. Reminds me of that smiths song- I can laugh about it now but at the time it was terrible. Pretty sure I got up to way more trouble too. GTs.

Heh, I just didn't have Internet for a while. Awkward timing pretty sure the last post I made here was pretty cryptic. I'm working on it. I physically can't have alcohol for another 24 hours with the meds they gave me so I got that long at least heh.

bob. 06-15-2014 03:12 AM

just remember that you've got so much going for you....

you're young, intelligent, good looking, and not nearly as social awkward as you think you are

i left you with a friend of mine for 30 minutes and according to Carson you two had a wonderful conversation :)

Goofle 06-15-2014 05:12 AM

After a great night out, watching the game and getting pretty drunk afterwards, I went to the ATM and it wasn't accepting my card. I went to another and it also didn't. I then noticed somebody following me to each ATM. Freaked me out. I did start to panic a little as he was much bigger than me and I am a softie. He tapped on my shoulder...

Turns out, none of the ATM's were working for anybody :D

This meant I had to walk home, which takes about an hour. I had enough for a small pizza though. It was outstanding. But I must admit, one of the slices sort of kinda nearly fell off the top of the box and burnt my finger when I successfully saved it from the floor.

Ouchie finger club going strong.

Well we had our annual street tourney this weekend (it's Canada-wide, this was just the Calgary leg). Part of team "Call Me Maybe" perhaps you've heard of us. We created a fair bit of stir last year what with us having Carly Rae's face on our jerseys and our numbers on the back. This year was even more so. Florescent pink shirts, classy call me maybe logo, same deal with the numbers on the back. Numerous texts (some more explicit than others) and phone calls and we had a pretty large following for our last couple games. Basically the talk of the tourney.

We went 1-2 in the round robin, probably should've won 2 but luck was not on our side. Squeaked into playoffs as the 40th seed and jumped out to a 3-0 lead today only to lose 6-4 in heartbreaking fashion. Dreams crushed. But we will be back. And next time will be even better.

Team pic alert

I would have guessed the goalie

The Batlord 06-15-2014 06:14 PM

Do you ever see an old thread updated that you posted in god knows how long ago and find yourself wondering, "Why the **** did I post in that thread? I don't give a **** about Green Day. What did I even have to say about them?"

My uncle had a heart attack three weeks ago, it caused some severe brain damage so his feeding tube was removed and he was placed in a medically induced coma. He held on for 12 days and passed away several hours ago. I feel awful for my cousins that they had to lose him on Father's Day, especially considering the celebration we had at my dad's house and the fact that there are two brand new dads in my family. Circle of life blah blah blah etc.

Had a head-on collision last night with me on a mini bike, and a friend on a go-cart. I was doing about 20-25 mph, as the go-cart was doing the same came around a corner, and BAM! Lights out. Sprained my wrist, re injured my foot and collar bone, bruise on my leg, and neck, fractured my nose, and I have 9 stitches in my forehead, and 5 stiches in my chin. Got out of the emergency room at 5am this morning all sewn up. It could have been a lot worse, it's a good thing I have a hard head since it bounced off of the roll cage on the go-cart at an impact equal to about 60mph.

It'll be a while until I can play guitar again (left wrist is very tender), so I guess I'll be taking a break.

Holy shit dude, glad you're gonna be ok. Hopefully you got some burly pain meds. I hope you were wearing a helmet, or if you weren't then consider yourself lucky as fuck and you will from now on. Think of it as a road condom

Damn. Vibes to you. I live in constant fear of damaging my guitar hand with my crazy mini biking lifestyle.

Sorry to hear that man, but I'm glad it wasn't worse. Especially sorry to hear about not being able to play guitar for a while, that's always rough.
