![]() Dear lord I loved this Who knew Jim from The Office would direct one of the finest horror films of the decade The world-building, atmosphere, and sound design of this film are all impeccable The acting is top-notch. Emily Blunt gives the performance of her life. Krasinski is also amazing especially whenever **** starts to hit the fan and he goes into Dad-protection-mode. The kid actors do a great job. The scares are excellent outside of 1 or 2 cheesy jumps. The tension is built masterfully and I was on the edge of my seat for a good 30-40 minutes straight during the peak of the action. Seriously go see this people, it deserves to be a huge hit and it's really an extraordinary experience. 9.5/10, only docking the half point for the aforementioned cheap jump scares and a couple questionable character decisions/minor plot holes.

I only got around to watching the movie after I finished the `1st season of the (amazing) tv series... and while it wasn't a bad or boring movie, I was seriously underwhelmed. |

I really need to see Fargo again. I'm not a huge fan of those Coen brothers movies, but I think I really liked it. I remember it as a quite funny movie.
The few other Coen movies I really enjoy: - Burn After Reading - No Country for Old Men - Intolerable Cruelty - A Serious Man |

I'm a huge Coen fan! But Fargo .. well, I assume it was because of just how well the tv show was made - it set the bar really high. Had I seen the movie before the tv show, I'd probably rate it higher, but...well, as it is, it's one of the weakest imo Coen movies.
A Serious Man is by far my favorite of them all, don't really know why, it just speaks to me. |
