Battlefield Earth would have been a classic if it were made 10 years earlier. I've also heard Skyline sucked.

And the camera angles weren't directed by a person with a leg amputation.
Also the cavemen fly jets.

That movie wasn't even fun to watch. And bad movies are my passtime.

Not the approach I would take to establish my credibility. But it works. I remember seeing BE when I was younger and I liked it. Maybe I should re-watch the ****ing thing.

someonecompletelyrandom 01-04-2011 02:16 PM

I'd probably like parts of it as a kid, like the action and te sci-fi aspect of it. But since growing up you'll probably find that you're not a bit enthralled by it and everything in the movie is just dull.

But speaking of bad movies you may have enjoyed as a kid... Mac and Me. Has anyone seen it? It's hilarious, I've never laughed so hard at something.

Haha, never saw it. That one looked bad to me even as a kid.

These two were my favorites, with Signs being somewhere really close by.

The rest I've seen would be as follows, ranked from best to worst:
The Village
Lady in the Water
The Happening

Definitely agree with with your order there, though I think I actually liked The Happening a little more than Lady in the Water.

'Nuff said.

someonecompletelyrandom 01-05-2011 01:55 PM

Dude, although I respect your amazing username, I must say you are full of ****! BFL was a masterpiece.
Or... at least Giamatti's character was.

Bulldog 01-06-2011 06:46 AM

I'd actually say that I enjoyed the Happening more than the Village, if only because of how hilarious I found it.

Anyways, a couple more of the worst films I've ever seen that I can think of...

http://www.movieposterdb.com/posters...7_ace0128a.jpg

If you like films with absolutely no charm whatsoever, use grossly exagerrated and insensitive racial stereotypes and are about as funny as getting mugged, don't watch this film, because it's even worse than all that. I wouldn't be surprised if the words 'utter' and 'shit' were actually first paired together by people talking about this film.

http://www.movieposterdb.com/posters...4_771987ac.jpg

It's annoying, it's totally pointless, and it's the worst comic book film I've ever seen by miles. Some of the decisions whoever directed this train crash of a film made are totally baffling too.

someonecompletelyrandom 01-06-2011 10:55 AM

What films were they? The images don't work for me.

Bulldog 01-06-2011 11:03 AM

Bah! Looks like they aren't showing up for me either.

Top one was this;

And then this;

Bloozcrooz 01-06-2011 11:17 AM

Crazy Heart with Jeff Bridges. Big let down for me. Thought it had the makings of a typical long hard road to stardom classic. Sadly no that was not the case. With the exception of Bridges the acting was cheesy at best and meaningless.

Wow, that North movie looked pretty bad. Since when do Texans (?) where bright blue and pink rodeo outfits?

Tank Girl is TERRIBLE. What a piss poor excuse for a sci-fi movie.

Thank you. It's not like it was intended to be taken seriously. It's just a fun, goofy movie with a super cute lead and a good soundtrack.

bob. 01-06-2011 03:12 PM

there are giant half man half kangaroos in it....how awesome is that!?

and absolutely the soundtrack is chock full of essential 90s alt rock....

Plus it's based on a comic by the artist behind Gorillaz.

Engine 01-06-2011 03:33 PM

I don't know what's going on here but I do know that Tank Girl is the shit. Comic is naturally better than the movie but so what?

bob. 01-06-2011 03:35 PM

i always wondered if it was the same people....the character design is almost identical...

as already stated the movie was nothing more than absolute fun

Engine 01-06-2011 03:39 PM

I know Hewlett was involved in the film but I don't know how much.

bob. 01-06-2011 03:43 PM

i just read he worked on the animation sequences but overall feels the film was a mistake

Bulldog 01-06-2011 03:50 PM

Probably a tad harsh of me to flag it here as I can see why people might dig it, not to mention there being much worse movies from around the same time I can think of (Biodome for example), but hey.

It still really grated with me when I watched it though.

oh my...you really put yourself though that?

someonecompletelyrandom 01-06-2011 03:52 PM

Come on buddddy.... Jury Duty and Biodome are like the ultimate bad comedies.

Yeppers. I'm still scarred by the memories to this day.

I hope you're joking ;)

Dunno about Jury Duty, but Biodome's just absolute dreck. One of those films that I literally can't find a single redeeming quality in. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

I'm glad they exist. Pauly Shore is something that every film fan needs to suffer through at some point. They're films you should watch with your best friends just for the hell of it. Through our pain, there's a comradery. It can only draw people together.

i agree...they are called cheesy gory 60s horror flicks which star voluptuous actresses who kill (see Russ Meyer and HG Lewis)

i unfortunately also had to live through Pauly Shore's time on Mtv.....and that was more than enough to hate him for life

The Batlord 01-13-2011 02:58 PM

Best worst movie I ever saw was Snake Island. Two snakes sing a duet about eating people for no apparent reason and some dude uses a riding lawn mower to drive through a field of snakes.

And Pauly Shore was awesome. I was like six when he came around. He was a part of my childhood. Encino Man 4 Life.

Janszoon 01-13-2011 03:22 PM

You know I think Pauly Shore pretty much sucks, and yet I have to admit Jury Duty and In the Army Now made me laugh.

^ And here's far and away the worst film I saw last year. You'd think the crossing of Paranormal Activity with alien abductions would be pretty cool, it at least the cheesy sense, but no. I was really excited about this movie when I first heard about, and I was left with probably the most boring film I've seen in years. Apart from that, it's pretentious as hell, and there's a certain storytelling device it goes for that just completely rips any hint of tension out of the thing.

This film's not good, basically.

My stepdad just watched this and was raving about it... also believes that it's actually based on a true story -_-

i dont know if ive already expressed my hatred for this film. I wont even go into it, just dont watch it, its utter balls.

blank 01-13-2011 09:17 PM

The Mist it the worst piece of **** I have seen in my entire life. Do you ever do something, and then once it's over really want the time you spent back? That is how I felt about The Mist but those two hours of my life are gone. I could have spent them so much better.

"hurr durr oh no monsters la la people going crazy NURRRR WE HAVE TO RUN oh well too late OH LOOK HELP too late whaaa"

I hate it so much.

Word censors? Greeeat.

Freebase Dali 01-13-2011 09:31 PM

^ Great review. I shall note the hurr, durr, and all instances of nurrrr.

You apparently haven't seen many other King adaptations...

NSW 01-13-2011 09:39 PM

The Mist wasn't that bad....watch The Langoliers and get back to me.
