Who'd ever listen to a fan girl, I don't know, but if you're suggesting (and you are) that Gatsby is less well written than Game of Thrones or Feast of Crows, you're out of your mind.

a little bit more olive skin in this pic....but i agree with you.....should have gone with a full blown Mediterranean

they better not fuck up when casting Arianne....she is practically described as the goddess of beauty in mine eyes

I don't mind him at all, to be honest. Daario's actor looked nothing like the character when I first saw him, and he was perfect. I am sure this guy was picked for ability in portrayal over looks. I always imagined the Dornish as Hispanic/ Moorish. This guy is clearly of the hispanic pool.

The Dornish should be Middle Easternish because they eat flatbread and hummus

Well this is a different world, maybe Caucasian/Moorish people eat flatbread and hummus in Westeros. The Dornish are definitely different than the rest of Westeros in terms of ethnicity, they share the same language but have a different accent, it is like southern spain in comparison to Northern Spain during the Moorish occupation of medieval Hispania.

No they don't, hummus and flatbread are appropriated from the Middle East, as well as things like stuffed grape leaves. The Dornish are said to be olive skinned too.

The show and book have never been solidly grounded in the real world though. I mean Westeros' answer to London is actually hot and sunny in the summer months which is blatantly inaccurate. But on Oberyn's casting: eh, he seems alright. I'm quite glad they went for the rugged look instead of the usual long-haired vaguely ethnic pretty boy I was expecting them to cast and while I've never heard of the guy... well, his acting ability won't be crucial to the long-term future of the show if it isn't anything special.
