The author is the writer. The show is a masterpiece. Granted, because they're working with more than enough source material, but the show is better.

And you are?

I've forgotten more about narrative than most people know. The books are great, but they can't tell a story for ****.

I meant "And you're an expert?"

You don't need to be a composer to know a ****ty song, you don't need to be a professional athlete, and you don't need to be a novelist to know when someone can deliver a message.

Yeah Brennan, I actually kind of am? Seeing how I've read all the books 4+ times, the series the same....? The writers are ruining characters. The sex scenes are gratuitous and boring.

Agree to disagree then because I think you've got it backwards.

Your opinion will matter when you've read the entire books and realised GRRM doesn't write all the episodes.

I'm not making that assertion. I'm well aware he doesn't write all the episodes. I thought you just didn't get good narrative; I thought it stemmed from a want of superiority - but now I'm wondering about reading comprehension levels.

At no point did I say Martin wrote the TV series. If he did, I wouldn't love the show nearly as much.

Your reading comprehension levels seem to be the faulty ones, obviously Martin knows how to do narrative, but that hardly translates to television well and D&D don't exactly write the series as it should be written, I'd have expected you to pick up on the subtle nuances of characterisation that are lost in translation but I can't really expect someone who think the Great Gatsby is the best American novel to really /get/ good fiction
