I was really discouraged with how easy it was to do away with Phasma. I was hoping for a real strong character with her.

I was aware of that, but I fear she might get sidelined again due to Poe needing more screen time plus with luke... I just worry too much.

She'll be back. I think she's going to be an ongoing side antagonist for Finn throughout the series, kind of like what Jabba and his minions were to Han.

Although a little modernized, this didn't feel like Disney at all. Abrams is a nerd and a total sci-fi fan. You can count on him to respect Star Wars enough to know that Disney feel CANNOT be combined with Star Wars. If Disney wants to do that with Rogue One, it would be more tolerable (but still a dumb idea). Disney has a feel. And Marvel has a feel. Star Wars has a feel. They need to stay separated from each other.

This movie felt quite Star Wars. It took a couple ideas from the first, but overall it was the best yet, adding a lot to the franchise and still waiting to answer some questions.
