I'll comment on this and say that the game is fun and worth a play mostly on its novelty and the ability of the player to enjoy sandboxing

the perk system is really fun too

yet on mechanics alone these 3D open world games have such a long way to go, they come out half busted riddled with bugs, the writing is not engaging, the main story is pointless, they're usually super easy past the first few hours as enemies level with you which then kinda makes the leveling redundant anyway

the AI is immersion breakingly stupid

I have a hard time recommending any of them for classic status when games almost 10 years older already had more engaging worlds

The only big, open world like game I consider a classic is Dragon's Dogma. It's hard to explain in short, but it's a whole other experience than what you'd expect, when once you learn how to play it. It's a way smarter designed game than it ever got credit for.

it looks like The Witcher series took big strides in realizing what an open world game should be but I've unfortunately never had the specs to play it

****ing Halo 3 ****ing multiplayer ***s. I'd rather split-screen on a couch playing the bigger and better maps from Halo 1 than put up with boring Halo 3 maps and the ****s you play online. And the campaign is the Black Album of Halo or something.
