I'm listening to my copy of Decade of the Nail-Spiked Bat, which is a double album of rerecordings of some of Jag Panzer's old songs. It wouldn't be such a big deal, except that Jag Panzer's first album has been out of print for years and this has seven out of the nine songs from that album. These recordings aren't quite as good as the originals, but they do the job nicely.

Blind Guardian pretty much cemented their position as the most stylistically advanced power metal band on the planet with this gem of an album.

Now for a break from the epic metal orgy. I wouldn't give up Electric Wizard for anything, but Lord of Putrefation (Jus Osbourne's first band) is one of the most kickass death/doom bands I've ever heard.
