Have you tried hopping some fences at the zoo? Lots of motivation for exercise.

I like a huge variety of exercise but anything I try right now I just cba. I’m not sure if I should try and force myself to continue and I’ll end up getting back in to the swing of things or if that will make me hate it.
I think most people will just advise you to make a decision and stick with it. Once you start exercising, even on days you really don't feel like it, eventually you get into it.

Yeah I am going to give it a go. I ended up going a walk last night and felt 100x better after it, it seems to be getting myself up and out the door that is the main struggle.

Yes, it's often said that the hardest part of exercising is getting off the sofa in the first place. Congrats on your walk, and don't forget how good you felt after: there's your motivation.
Something I do to stay inspired is to watch videos like the one below. Even though in this one the guy's voice is irritating and we more or less know what he's going to talk about, the message still helps me to make that effort when I'm tempted to skip a day or two:-

One prob in England is that the weather can be cold and dreary, so I sympathise with the cba attitude; I remember struggling a lot, when under the duvet was the only warm place in the flat.
Good luck with the fight against the secret slob that is inside us all FETCHER !

Get addicted to disc golf. I don't even think about the miles I walk and the health aspect of it, I'm just out there chasing aces and birdies.

I know, there is certain exercises that I never feel unmotivated to do so it is worrying me a bit.

Yeah the weather is crap, we had a storm yesterday. It’s sunny at the moment, waiting on another storm so I’m going to use that as my motivation and head out for a walk while it’s nice!

Thank you Lisna

I will be honest, I had never heard of disc golf until I seen your thread. I googled it though and it looks like there’s a few courses in Glasgow. They are too far away to get addicted but I would definitely try it.

Sweet! Looks like there's a lot more south. A few of my fellow DG club members took a trip out that way some years back and played Whitcombe Farm in Dorset County, England, which is about as far south as you can go.

It'll be awkward at first, but if you stick with it and start to build up proper form it gets better. Joining local clubs and leagues makes it more of a social thing too, and you can learn a lot from the seasoned players.

Then there's UDisc to find local courses, leagues, tournaments etc., it's a great little app: https://udisc.com/

^ Up in Scotland, FETCHER might find her disc blown off into the North Sea on her first throw

You're welcome! I know it's a disincentive when, having achieved a certain level, you stop for a while, then discover yourself back at Square One. It's happened to me a couple of times, and tbh I never made it back to my previous intensity, but yeah, I just kept plugging away. These days, I have a couple of things I like doing and take a Soft Machine song title as my motto: "Slightly All The Time".
