Well I normally don't enjoy myself when I need to breathe out my ass, so I'd go with afterwards.

Guys do you also get hit by obstacles and people when running outside? I do. Thats why I only do normal walking. That way nothing would hit me on the way. Though I guess since I said earlier that I only exercise alone at home....well, I do that usually, but I also go outside and take a walk too. Fresh air, meeting strangers, peeing in the bushes.....so many awesome adventures on the journey.

In this thread, Man Like Monkey could be me talking. 100% agree about walking/cycling/running, also about the enjoying, the fresh air and the outside.

My health has actually improved substantially over the summer from 20,000 km on the bike, probably a quarter of that mileage being off-roading and trail riding. Wrestling 300 lb dirt bikes up and down mountains is actually a hell of a workout for your legs, core, and arms. I've lost about 15 or 20 pounds since I started riding without adjusting my diet at all (which includes a lot of pizza, pasta, and beer, though I still do pay attention to calorie intake most days).
