A couple of mosques have had fires but people actually being killed, no. Some people put some bacon on the doorstep of a mosque recently though. Got prison sentences for it too.

I've done worse than that, been court and not got a prison sentence. They must have previous or something.

Can't say the comparison holds up well.
A burning cross on black people's property is more or less a death threat, due to the historical ties to the KKK, lynchings and all that. A bacon attack on the other hand seems kinda dickish, but nowhere near the same caliber.

Still an abnormally large fire hazard vs. pig back.

My point was that they're both still hate crimes that threaten the safety of those affected. Having your mosque vandalized isn't exactly a welcome basket.

Take away the bacon and all you have is an argument so far as I can tell. Whereas a burning cross is not only far more intense of a threat, but one that has well over a century of history with murder and violence.

Probably best to make sure that we don't create a new history for bacon then.
