The natural question which arises from the First Cause argument is "What caused what you call god?". Responding that God is exempt from requiring a cause is a case of special pleading.

Even if one accepts the cosmological argument as a proof of a First Cause, it does not necessarily identify that First Cause with a god.

I don't know the answer to how existence and time came to be, and I'm sure that modern science also cannot make any definitive claims, but we're not concerned with coming up with the answers RIGHT ****ING NOW. We're just trying to do what we can to increase our knowledge until hopefully we might be able to solve the problem one day. And until then, we are willing to settle for temporary ignorance.
