Did the New York Times Contradict Their 20 January 2017 Report About Wiretapping?

Swing and a miss. Again.

It's getting more and more fun watching the discussion panels at night on TV. The amount of laughter, rolling of eyes, shaking of heads, and pure exasperation is reaching higher and higher levels with each passing week. Even the contributors who are Trump supportors are starting to turn and speak against him over stuff like the wire tap claims and trying to rush through his health plan.

Very entertaining.

We got the circus we were expecting, for better or worse.

NYT is a pretty bad source, reports pretty bad source. Mudslinging journalism at its finest.

And the New York Post makes the NYT look like the Huntley-Brinkley Report.

That they do.

I read that before I bothered posting. Still doesn't change what they did, which was retract a headline on an old article only after Donald Trump opened his mouth. But of course Snopes misses the point completely....something you and them seem to have in common.

Still doesn't back up Trump's ridiculous claims against Obama, which is the point of the Snope's article. Keep up.

Does it really matter? I can guarantee that every source you trust has retroactively changed their articles in light of new information and contexts. It's the nature of modern journalism.

But you brought up that Snopes article when it had nothing to do with my original post, which is about them changing the headline WEEKS after it was originally posted. The content of that original NYT article is not relevant to my original post. Again, you deliberately miss the point in order to pivot to something I didn't talk about at all.

In this case I think the timing is suspicious. They change headlines on Cracked articles and stuff on HuffPost all the time, but I have no idea if that's the norm or not for major publications.

Dude, as a certified Trump apologist, you linked the New York Post article in a lame attempt to bolster Trump's unbacked claims that Obama had Trump Towers bugged. Snopes blew the New York Post's insinuation, and yours' by default, out of the water.

Backpeddle all you want. But your intent by posting the NYP article originally was completely obvious. Go slink away now and find another tabloid article that supports your paranoid boy's view of his parallel universe.

Awaiting your "but I didn't vote for Trump" reply in 5... 4... 3... 2......

They're obviously related, but I ask again: what's the big deal?

And yes it is exceedingly common. That's one of the benefits of online journalism: you can change your information when new things come to light. Would you rather they clung to wrong ideas instead of change them?
