Ant plays the following cards:

1. I know someone who was in the FBI therefore what I post has more merit.

2. I use to conduct polls therefore what I post has more merit.

3. My assumptions have more merit than your assumptions.

No-one said that anyone loves the ACA. Nice try though. What the poll states is that the the majority of those asked, who identified themselves as republicans, said they think the ACHA is departing too radically from the ACA.

Did you read the updated CBO report that was issued yesterday? Trumpcare is even worse that what they first reported now that they have studied the changes being made to try and get it to pass the house.

(is this where I'm supposed to post a smilie to show that I'm just having fun with all of this?)

Correct: what I say has more merit than you (in this particular argument) because I have more real world experience and know a wide range of people whom I actively communicate with and learn from, which in this case includes an FBI veteran. I sincerely apologize if you don't like that. You may not be having fun, but I love this stuff. :finger:

You are a pretty smart guy, but I also realized a long time ago that we'll probably never agree on anything outside of music.

As for Trumpcare, I had a wait and see attitude coupled with a high degree of skepticism. The skepticism I had proved to be well warranted. You didn't need to sell me on that.

As Chula likes to say, swing and a miss.

As the MB tradition of making metaphors confusing and hyper-specific goes, I think it might be the pitcher.

1. All of your information is second hand news from people who shouldn't be sharing the information in the first place.

2. You haven't a clue about my real world experience so **** off with your assumptions and your arrogance.

Trump just ordered Paul Ryan to yank the ACHA bill because it was going to fail miserably. The republicans had 7 years and 1 day to figure out how to repeal the ACA. They have campaigned for that entire time and have won seats on the premise they were going to do it once Obama was out of office. Trump guaranteed he'd get it done. Guaranteed it over and over again. Trump has a majority in the house and senate.

FAILED MISERABLY.

Ryan and Price already have tire tracks across their butts. Trump's next few tweets should be very amusing.

Well since we want to talk about metaphors and analogies...

Mr. Drumpf decides he's going to invest in real estate tomorrow. Does it make more sense for Mr. Drumpf to-

1. Consult with a maven who has over three decades of experience in commercial real estate investment or-

2. Throw money into X type of property he saw highlighted in some article he read about in CNN's Business section.
This is the difference between getting your information secondhand and thirdhand. In the context of what we're talking about, my skepticism of the FBI is based on secondhand information from a close friend who knows that world very well. If we can't respect real world experience and learn from it, then what can we value? Chula, however, thinks thirdhand information is better than secondhand and wants to debate me. By default, he loses.

Firsthand would be if I were an FBI agent myself.
