Thanks to TheFolkslave for posting that song on the review thread, I loved it and was immediately compelled to download the album.

I saw this one a couple months back when I was still iffy on anything outside of Electronic music. I think I may have to get it now that I'm more open minded.

EDIT: This made me want some more similar stuff, so I got this.

The Decemberists- The King Is Dead

I couldn't wait...and on the first song I can already tell this is miles better than The Hazards of Love.

I got The All-American Reject's album for Christmas as well as two Senses Fail albums and an Avril Lavigne album.

The last album I actually bought was You Me At Six.

I plan to buy more in the New Year and take advantage of the sales ^_^

I have most of their albums on MP3 but wanted a decent collection to play on the home Hi Fi. Hard to believe that some of these songs are not far off 50 years old!

Not a fantastic album but decent enough for a £1

I am not their biggest fan by miles but this is a damn good album in my eyes.

About time I bought it and it sounds much better on C.D. You can hear a lot more intricacy and indeed, intimacy.

I've also been meaning to get into these guys, but have put off getting this album for a while...cool experimental/tropical/pop though I dig it.

Lard Free - Lard Free (1973)

Stumbled upon this very interesting French progressive band and got their first album for now. The music here is a very compelling blend of avant-prog, jazz and liberating experimentation of German kraut-rock. I think this album will grow on me very quickly.

Urban Sax - Urban Sax I (1977)

This 'band' is related to the one above. Gilbert Artman of Lard Free founded this ensemble that mainly consists of large number of saxophones (16 here?). I've read that number grew over the years and can reach 50 and more. The result on this album I can best describe as saxophone drone. Apparently they are best experienced live. I found this description of their performances:
