Personally, I prefer Pinkerton. I think it's more passionate. That doesn't mean their debut is bad, though. Maybe I should hear it again; I've heard Pinkerton lots and lots of times, The Blue Album only once.

That's from their 1st album.

Im telling you they started off great but couldn't quite follow through

The deluxe version of that album had the song 'Jamie' which is sorta like a rarity but it's one of their best songs.

Agree with this.

I will never understand this whole 'Weezer were this amazing band who didn't live up to their potential' thing that I have constantly heard for the past 15 years at least.

Their debut album was nothing special to begin with, just another generic power pop/punk pop album from an era when tons of bands were making generic power pop/punk pop.

ok, that's YOUR opinion, back then when i first heard their first CD i luved it, especially because most of the music scene was saturated by grunge (which i also like) and they were kinda the alternative to that.

Im not saying Weezer is more special than other bands, but for me they were a decent band that had alot of potential to be even better.

Weezer reminded me a bit of the pixies, in fact 'i bleed' sounds alot like Weezer and i thought they were heading in a good direction, but nope, i was wrong.

So Weezer reminded you of the Pixies who were one of Nirvana's biggest influences. Not sure how that makes Weezer any kind of alternative to grunge.

Weezer has always been, to me at least, a big "singles" band. Not sure why a bunch of people are down on them, because they really didn't change much over the years.

Really not that different. They're okay, not great.

Cause Weezer isn't grunge, i mean have you heard Weezer?

They were an alternative BACK THEN, i remember when MTV played Sweater song and Buddy holly, Weezer stood out from all the depressed grunge bands that were popular at the time.
