Once again,

Beyonce had the Superbowl for promotion
Beyonce had a world wide tour
Beyonce had the pepsi commercials
Beyonce singed at the inauguration

So she had more commercial promotion than Bowie so naturally she initially would sell more but it does not change that he was the first.

I think his sells are more impressive being he had NO promotion AT ALL.

David Bowie was the first to do it that year and then a lot of others followed afterward Jay Z, etc because they saw the success he garnered for doing it.


But he did not get the respect and props Beyonce did for doing it.


He didn't leak prior singles like Beyonce did to test the success of the singles.

When those two singles her team leaked over the summer received negative feedback, Her team came up with the idea to copy David Bowie and release everything all at once with flashy videos. The PR tactic was you had to buy the album before you actually listened to it lol

He released everything all at once without leaking anything.

I have no idea what you're trying to say here but if you're implying that Bowie released nothing before The Next Day came out you'd be wrong.

Where Are We Now? was released in December 2012 & The Stars (Are Out Tonight) was released in Feburary 2013 as singles before The Next Day was released in March 2013.

That is not the reason why I brought him up.

I was making a point.

I know David Bowie is a trendsetter but tell the media that because as far as they know Beyonce was the first to drop her album without telling anyone.

Bowie was the first to release his album online without telling anyone.

I would NEVER compare artistically an artist like Bowie to Beyonce.

I brought up Bowie because he was the first last year to drop his album online without telling anybody despite what the media said about Beyonce being the first.

He did not get nearly as much acclaim and credit as Beyonce when he did it and he did it before her.

Beyonce's team did leak two singles last summer.



She leaked Bow Down B%$^& and it received negative reviews. She renamed it "Flawless" on her new album because of the negative feedback she received from the original title of the song.

This was all over the news, couldn't miss it. They were playing the song on the radio to.



They also leaked Grown Woman which also appeared in her Pepsi Ad commercial. She also showcased the song on her tour.



They purposely leaked those songs to see the public reaction. When her team realized those singles were not strong to stand alone by themselves they copied David Bowies idea.

Bowie dropped his album without any promotion and without telling anybody. He did not leak any of his songs before he did that.
