Just making sure cause I read through this thread and all of a sudden an image of someone I know popped up and I can't imagine her or any other people like her harboring ill thoughts towards anybody.
And then I thought thta if there was at least one person ou there like that then surely there were more and if this war were to escalate, I can see so many small innnocent civvies dying in much the same manner as say many did during WWII.

Thanks Fal, for alleviating some of my . . . . rather disturbing thought.

I was watching The Glenn Beck Show today on CNN (I know what you're thinking I believe Glenn Beck WTF?) and he was talking about how we can't leave Iraq now. If we do Iran will basically take control of it. This I truely believe if we get a stable government in Iraq that's one more ally for us in the Middle East and one less place for Iran to take control over so IMO it's a win win situation we win Iran loses. Anyone else agree?

I think there should of been a better escape plan in the first place. But for now it would be better to have Iraq under military control than to allow Iran to take them over.

And how is leaving thousands of troops stationed in a country that isn't making any sort of progress so that they can get killed by the occasional suicide bomber a win situation?

Iran, as a whole, is actually one of the most progressive Middle Eastern countries. e.g. Their drug rehabilitation programmes are miles beyond that of any Western countries. If you look at the sort of stuff that Israel gets up to and consider the history situation and implications on surrounding nations you'd probably share his sentiments ... America, the UK and everyone else who chipped in are duty bound to stay until the country has been returned to stability. They're also duty bound to rebuild and in doing so provide for local artisans, but I guess that money is better spent on American corporations rather than giving a livelihood to the Iraq builder ...
