Tfw your daughter calls you out of the blue to tell you she wants to set up a jam session at your house with Cameron Knight, the touring guitar player for Alt-J. I had no idea who they were about 10 minutes ago, but...

^ That dude in the gif is ****ing creepy. Have you seen the YouTube video?

Plankton 07-13-2016 12:52 PM

Not until you just mentioned it.

Zhanteimi 07-18-2016 09:41 PM

TFW your co-worker is playing Counting Crows at the computer across from you and singing along...oh fuck...and then he just clicks the next Counting Crows song and keep going. Happening now. Someone fedex me some cyanide.

Yesterday I got a ride from a mutual friend to Fallbrook (half hour/45 minute drive each way) and we listened to one Psychostick album two and a half times on full blast. Their songs get old before they're even finished. I wanted to jump out of the speeding Camaro.

Zhanteimi 07-18-2016 09:46 PM

Oh thank fuck. He switched to Elvis Costello.

Do you have speakers for a battle of passive aggressive office warfare if the problem comes up again? I've got some recs that'll send your coworker out of the building.

Zhanteimi 07-18-2016 09:52 PM

We're in the common teachers' room, so he's regaling us all with his choices.

The Batlord 07-18-2016 10:15 PM

Play some of that Cryptopsy I rec'd you.

Frownland 07-18-2016 10:16 PM

I say he just practices his death metal vocals.

What do you teach?

Zhanteimi 07-18-2016 11:16 PM

I don't teach. I just torture university students with compulsory first- and second-year English classes.

I had to cut Killing Joke today, by the way. Not my thing. I've not got high hopes for Cryptopsy.

Which Killing Joke album did you hear? They've had a couple different styles over the years.

Lol alert.

Zhanteimi 07-18-2016 11:19 PM

Pandemonium. I cut it halfway through.

You might want to check out their s/t album from 1980 (not to be confused with their other s/t album from 2003). Not sure if it's your style, but it's substantially different from Pandemonium. I like both albums personally, but for very different reasons.

Zhanteimi 07-18-2016 11:31 PM

I'll see if I have a chance to get around to it. My odyssey is chock-full of albums, but I may or may not be able to squeeze it in at some point in the future maybe.

You probally won't like Cryptopsy, mordor.

Zhanteimi 07-19-2016 12:05 AM

I'm not living up to my name. :)

Then you better start. :)

Zhanteimi 07-19-2016 12:09 AM

Meh.

Metal has to have a certain...something for me to like it. Problem is, I don't know what that elusive "something" is.

Blank. 07-19-2016 12:10 AM

Have you given a listen to any of the progressive metal bands. You may like that.

Zhanteimi 07-19-2016 12:14 AM

They tried to give me advice
Down at the record shop
I said, "sit down boys
"This might come as a shock
All I listen to
It's all freedom rock"
I'll take recs you have when I come to the letter which starts the title of the album.

Blank. 07-19-2016 12:22 AM

I honestly don't have any. I haven't listened to enough progressive metal to be like, "oh you'll enjoy [insert terrible band name here]." Lol. But from what I've heard from bands like periphery and Opeth, you might actually enjoy them.

Zhanteimi 07-19-2016 12:24 AM

Frownland recommended Opeth the other day. It's been slipped into rotation. It won't come up for a while, though, since, if I remember correctly, the album title starts with D.

Blank. 07-19-2016 12:26 AM

Ok. But i will rec something I love. Songs For The Deaf by Queens Of The Stone Age. One of my all time favorites and contains enough sonic difference that anyone could enjoy a song or two on it.

Zhanteimi 07-19-2016 12:30 AM

Will give it a listen. You're just in time. S is just around the corner!

Get ready to be blown away. Lol. Enjoy.

Zhanteimi 07-19-2016 12:33 AM

When it comes up, I'll be sure to add it to my journal.

Cuthbert 07-19-2016 01:43 AM

tfw chest infection on the hottest day of the year.

:(

Cuthbert 07-19-2016 01:47 AM

8:46am and man is already melting. I am going to absolutely cook by midday.

Blank. 07-19-2016 02:02 AM

That feeling when you realize what you're doing to you're ex is what you hated her current boyfriend for doing to her when you were with her.

Cuthbert 07-19-2016 02:42 AM

Well, what are you doing mate?

grindy 07-19-2016 05:02 AM

Fisting

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 07-19-2016 08:21 AM

:clap::clap::clap:

Blank. 07-19-2016 08:35 AM

Actually it's double fisting.

No one wants their double fisting fetish to become public information.
